This 1959 MGA is not only a beautiful 2 owner automobile, t has provenance and a verifiable history. Car comes with the original warranty doc, ales document, wner’s manual, hop manual, riginal window sticker and original BMC Service policy. This car was purchased new from Import Motors in Wichita in April of 1959. It was purchased by an Air Force test pilot who was the #9 Astronaut in NASA’s Mercury 7 series. He was an alternate that did not get to launch. His name was James E Kirkpatrick. Google him for more info. His daughter and son-in-law did the restoration of his MGA for a present. James became incapable of enjoying the MGA and sold it to his daughter and son-in-law for $1.00. They kept it for several years after James’ passing but eventually needed to make room. I was the lucky one to find out about it. In my lifetime, nd a long time ago, owned over 6 MGA’s. I couldn’t resist. Now it’s your turn. The odometer shows 37,246 miles. Doesn’t mean anything because the car is 56 years old. There is less than 2000 miles on the engine and transmission rebuild. The interior is done in red leather (not vinyl). The dash is red which is unusual but is the original dash color. Car is on modern radials. Wheels are original. The top is brand new and has only been up just to see it works. Never been in the rain since the restoration. There is only one thing wrong with the car. The Paint. From 10 feet away it looks great (see the pictures) The daughter and son in law after a year and a half of restoration listened to a friend who said he could and would love to paint the car for them. The top coat and undercoat has a reaction and there is orange peel in quite a few places. The car needs and deserves to be sanded and repainted correctly. Bid with the repaint in mind. Winning bidder must pay a deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours of the close of the auction and complete payment within 1 week after deposit. Car is sold in my driveway. Delivery is by buyer, I can help with logistics on my end.
