Description

1960 MG MGA Roadster MK II

First and foremost, f you have been looking at what I call a nice SURVIVOR MGA
that has little to no rust on it (and no signs of any rust repair, hanks AZ) this
may be the best car for you. Keeping in mind, ou are bidding / buying the car
from a car person enthusiast too, nd a seller who has been on Ebay for over
15 yrs with excellent feedback. Keeping all that in mind, lease read thru rest
of our ad and check out over 150+ great pictures and see if this may be the MG
you have been looking for, ither as a driver or for a personal car collection.
This particular vehicle has been the hardest one for me to sell in yrs.
I make NO CLAIM to be any sort of MG expert and honestly know very little
about these cars compared to more so the Muscle Cars I normally sell here
on Ebay. I can promise to describe the car to the best of my knowledge with
what I was told about the car from the last owner, nd with posting up pictures
from any angle possible. Many times potential bidders see things I DONT SEE and
have no problem asking about the area in question. This is why I post up as much
as possible. I miss some things too. Ill never try to purposely sugar coat anything
or BS anyone with my descriptions. IF a potential buyer / bidder has ANY QUESTIONS
about this vehicle or WANT PICTURES OF ANY AREA I may have missed, lease
email me at least 12 hours or more before the auction ends and I have no problem
getting better pics of ANY AREA on the car and posting it up in the ad for you and
anyone else to view.
Some history I do know or was told about the car: The last owner before me has owned
the car for about 4 yrs. He purchased the car from a buddy of his who I believe he said
owned the car for about 20 yrs or more. This MG has been here in the Arizona dry desert
climate for most if not all its life and while in AZ its always been in a garage.
The car runs and drives great, uch better then I expected for such an old non restored
car. Ive been under this car and have looked in hard to see areas looking for rot and
cant find any rust holes or even any repairs where rust may of been fixed. Sure, he car
has some surface rust in areas, ut even evidence of that is minimal thanks to the arid
Az climate. The black paint I believe to have been done in the late 80s and Im pretty
Sure its an original enamel style single stage paint. Black also looks to be the original color.
The paint looks great in the pics and really, n person its pretty nice. IF you start looking
closer to the paint youll see some flaws IE : scratches, hips, iscoloring in some areas
around the car. Another area Ive seen some minor flaws is along the seam where the front
fenders bolt to the body. About 6" long in at least one spot looks like minor bubbling. To me
its very minor, ut if the car sells for what I think it may sell for, dont want any buyers to
be disappointed in the car if they win it. Below check out the pics, ll be trying to show all
the big areas as well as the smaller ones too.
The car really does look great in person and black paint shows even the smallest flaws
so keeping that in mind and after checking out the pics, he paint to me is acceptable for
a fun driver cruise night vehicle.
Most of the interior was just redone in the last few months. This includes the new leather
on the seats, ash and various parts of the cockpit. Carpet and convertible top are also
NEW. The manual top is a little tricky to put up and down if you arent sure how to do it but
its fully functional too. If it where my car, D just leave it down all the time. The car also
comes with side window curtains I think they are called. These look to be original and not
restored and I keep them in the trunk.
As for driving it, ull the choke out a little when its cold, urn the key to ON, ump the gas
a few times and pull the starter switch and it fires right up and sounds great !! I usually
let it warm up a little before I drive it, nd once warmed up I push the choke back in and
it runs and drives great. The 4 spd trans feels good too. Reach under the dash, urn up the
hidden radio / CD player a little and enjoy the ride.

OUR 100% feedback speaks for itself
and many of our feedback are from about 15 cars we sold just this past
year here on EBay. We put more time and effort into our ads making it much
easier for the potential buyers to bid with confidence.

We try to show all the areas well in the 100+ pics below.
You can rest assure, e try to show more areas of our cars for sale then any
Other seller on EBay. Its the easiest way to buy long distance with less drama.
Arizona cars are time capsules half the time and the best kind to buy.

DRIVETRAIN:I believe the motor to be the original 1500 but cant say for
sure 100%. I have thought about getting a certificate of Heritage for the car to try
to verify more info on the car and if it doesnt meet reserve, just may do it in case
I relist it. The clutch and transmission feel good too. Under the hood is clean and
well kept, ut not a show car. Rearend is original too the best I can tell and in
good working order. No smoke, r weird noises coming from any of it all. I do know
the clutch isrelativelynew along with the throw out bearing. Exhaust system sounds nice too.
Overall, believe it to be mostly all original and the way it left the factory from what I tell.
Im not 100% sure if its a matching #s engine, ut Ill try to find out if I can, o if you have any
questions, sk away and Ill try to find out for you !
INTERIOR:as mentioned early most of the interior is new or has been redone, ncluding
A new convertible top.Driving it around I know at least the Speedo and Tach are working fine too.
Even the map light, orn, ipers work as I think all the knobs on the dash are working.
The burgandy leather is a really soft hide and really makes for a great look as well as a
comfortable ride. I think the cushions where also replaced at the same time. Most of the interior
work where done in the last yr and garage kept

EXTERIOR: the black paint almost looks like it could be original and just a survivor
but Im under the impression from what the previous owner has told me, e believed it
to have had a repaint back in the 80s. I could be wrong. What I don know abou the paint is
it looks great in pics and still looks nice in person. Its not a show car, ut could win a peoples
choice award in the next local car show :) . But just walking up to the car it shows well
and usually black shows every flaw, really have to look over the car alot to find the flaws.
But some are there and most are minor scratches and thin paint in a few areas. Lower windshield
molding from the glass frame to the body is new. As are some other weatherstrips. The chrome
on the bumpers is in really nice shape too as is the trim around the car. Some of the emblems
are not as bright as day 1, ut acceptable for a daily drive. The factory steelwheels look great with
the stock caps and beauty rings. Headlights and taillights work great as well.
KEEP IN MIND THIS IS NOT A FULLY RESTORED MGA, ut to me looks closer to a WELL KEPT SURVIVOR
CA, ith a good history of any major repairs or damage in its history. PLEASE DONT EXPECT a fully
restored show car, ven though the car looks AMAZING in the pics, t will still look great to the
average, ogical buyer.

SUSPENSION: some normal repairs and updates have been done to the stock suspension over
the years and its been kept up to date. The tires are in like new condition with the wide white walls turned
to the inside, o if you like the wide whites, ou can have them flipped around easily enough for the look.
The tread is in almost new condition too. Brakes feel great and have been done recently up front, f course
it is front disc on this yr/ model. Steering feels tight for a 50 yr old car and the car handles well, robably
very close to the way it did back in 1965. The spare tire in the trunk is also basically NEW and never been
on the ground. Speaking of the trunk area, coudnt find any signs of rot or major rust issues. Check out
all the pics please below and see for yourself.
Im sure Im forgetting something, ut thats a start on what
you are looking at buying. (SEE ALL THE PICS TOO BELOW)

Check out ALL the pics below ----->
If other auctions are not showing areas under their cars,
who really knows what sort of shape its in. Dont find out
the hard and $$ way. At least our auctions show as much
as possible to potential buyers and bidders.

it may take a full minute for them all to load ifyou have a
slow connection, o be patient AND looks for the extra scroll
bar on the right side.
Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate.
more infoAFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.

On Aug-17-15 at 01:55:02 PDT, eller added the following information:

Ive had a few people ask me if it would make a road trip andthe answer i, ES it probably would to the best of my knowledge.
I dont see any reason why it wouldn, ut its an older car andanything can happen. I do know that the car does an an electric
fuel pump on it too installed in the last yr or so..
For all practical reasons, d have the car shipped via car haulerjust to be safe.
