This is the best all-around MGB for those who love to drive, how off, nd above all, herish their classic British roadsters. This 1971 MGB has been through a frame-off restoration within the last few years that gave it a spectacular color combination, nd an amazingly rebuilt motor that revs and sings like a true European should. It takes a brave man to paint an MGB black, r at least one confident in his bodywork, nd it certainly shows here. It's the product of an exceptionally thorough restoration that turned this fun British roadster into a cut-above prize-winner (it already has taken home some nice trophies in the last few years.) That's because all of the usual concerns have been addressed the doors fit well, he hood is flush, nd the decklid sits right, ramed by a pair of gorgeous MGB taillights. All the details are there, rom the MG badges on the nose and tail, o the chrome sport mirrors and polished gas cap. Chrome bumper cars are popular with MG enthusiasts due to their classic roadster looks, nd against the black paint, he brightwork on this prize sparkles and glitters like something very, ery expensive. And speaking of chrome and expensive, he 72-spoke wire wheels are the kind of craftsmanship that create attraction from a distance, nd create awe up-close. These were hand-built cars, nd this one really sets the example of how they all should be.The red leather interior is so quintessentially British that it may very well be original to the car, nd with that in mind, t's simply spectacular. Only English leather gets that comfortable, ived-in look, hat seems to get better with age, nd in a black car, othing looks better than red. The Tourist Trophy steering wheel, nd walnut crested shifter knob, ook so new that you know rings must have been taken off fingers before driving. Smiths gauges are a British motor industry tradition, nd even in 1971 they had a classic look that has defined simple motoring elegance. A glossy black roll bar behind the seats is a good way get a racy appearance, hile adding safety (after all, afety Fast!) It fits neatly under the new black Stayfast canvas top with an interior-matching red boot. Despite carrying a full-sized spare living under that MG tire cover, here's a decent amount of trunk capacity.Rebuilt around 3,000 miles ago, he 1800cc inline four delivers performance well above its size, hanks to a host of smart upgrades. Built by the experts at Automotive Specialties, he block is topped by an aluminum cross-flow cylinder head, ebuilt side-draft carburetors, nd a flashy aluminum valve cover up top. That's correct MG Maroon on the block, nd it shows off quite well in the highly detailed engine bay. For reliability, here's a Pertronix ignition system, n oil cooler with braided stainless lines, ront disc brakes, nd a stainless steel sport exhaust system that sounds awesome. Tube shocks, pgraded springs, nd polyurethane bushings make sure it handles the way you know a backroads weekend getaway machine should. There's so much more time and money invested in this roadster than we have the space to mention. But, ive us a call and we'll go through all the details, ncluding the maintenance records and restoration receipts. It's evident that this is truly an MGB worth much more than its affordable price...call now!!!
