I have owned this Midget for about 6 years and have done a lot of restoration in that time.Rebuilt transmission, new brakes, brake cylinders, master cylinder, etc.
I restored the interior with new carpet and side panels. There was some rust in the floor boards and I replaced the bad metal with aluminum plates as well as some areas in the trunk area. There are photos documenting what I did there. The car comes complete with all the original chrome trim and wheel covers as well as the rare and original steering wheel.
It also has a touneau cover as well as the vinyl top. However the clear plastic on the top is cloudy and although the top will protect you fromrain it is starting to wear through in places. I never used the top the whole time I owned the car, it's so much more fun with it off. There is a photo included of the car with the top that I got from the person I bought the car from. Most importantly the car does come with all the metal hardware and supports for the top. Be advised that this model only came with a top you had toinstall, it is not aconvertible, meaning it is not always attached and you just pull it up, you actuall have to put it on.
This has always been a weekend driver and has always been garaged. The tonneau top is in good shape and will keep a light rain out but it also isshowing wear.
The body is in pretty good shape but there is some rot starting to show in the rear quarter panels, just a little on the passenger side but quite a bit on the driver side.I was going to cut them out and weld new panels in but I never got around to it.
This is a very fun car to drive and work on. Owning a car like this is a continual project, there is always something more to do.All the lights work as well as allaccessories including the speedometer, fuelgauge and voltage. However the tachometer stopped working last year and orderingand installing a new cable is one of the thingsI never got around to. Who looks at the tach anyway? Listen to the engine! That's what I love about these classic British cars, the purring sound of the engine. This is a four cylinder and one of the very first Midgets so it has the small engine, 948cc.
There are a lot of photos and please ask any questions but realize this car is 54 years old and of course is being sold as is.
Thanks for looking
