Up for sale is my 2007 Scion tC 2 door coupe. I have owned this car for a little over a year. I purchased it with high highway mileage (255,000) and put ~ 10,000 miles on it. The car is in very nice condition considering the high mileage. It is a standard tC with a manual transmission.
The BAD news: The clutch started acting up. I replaced the master and slave clutch cylinders and it ran great for a few thousand miles....but is now acting up again. I believe it will need the clutch replaced and I do not want to tackle that. The car can be driven, but is tricky to shift. You need to start it in gear, I choose 2nd, then you are able to shift with the correct engine speed matching.....as you can with most manual transmissions. I was quoted $750, complete, to replace the clutch at a local shop.
The engine uses oil at a rate of ~ 1quart / 2 tanks of fuel.
The GOOD news: Scion will repair / replace the defective engine parts for this defect for unlimited miles until October 31, 2016. I have added a photo of this recall.
The engine runs smooth and strong!
Here is your chance to buy a decent cosmetic condition 2007 Scion tC at a reasonable price....just be willing to address the 2 mechanical issues.
The car is located and can be viewed close to I-81 Maugansville exit - Hagerstown, MD.
