Was built in the Van Nuys plant on 5/10/1967and shipped on 5/18/1967 to the Barry Motor Co. Danbury Iowa. A "Z" precedes the Shelby VIN. This car has all matching numbers on the chassis and motor and transmission. Theseseries of cars did not have the numbers stamped on the block but the motor hasthe correct date code. 7D1 4/1/1967. A personal letter from Dave Mattews statesthis to be correct. This Shelby was purchased for the original owner Kristen Brown in Cedar Falls Iowa from Larry Lange Ford and was owned by her from 1967-74. who received the car as a high school graduation gift. The Shelby then moved on to Story Iowa with two other owners and came to Colorado in 1995. I bought the car in 2008. The engine was totally rebuilt at 71000 miles by a previous owner by Walt Hane. The mileage on this car can be documented by records and invoices on file with the car. I also have the original owners manual with the car. This car issurprisingly rust free as it was originally from the mid west.
