The Electric Drive Smart has significantly more power than the gasoline Smart and feels really peppy around town. It also doesn't have the big shift hesitation the gas version has. It can easily cruise at highway speeds with no problem.
This car has SMART Battery Assurance Plus. For $80(plus tax) per month you lease the battery from SMART and they cover any defects including replacement and give you a FREE yearly battery inspection and service. For more info please google smart battery assurance plus or send me a message.
