As you can see from the pictures- this was the top of the line model S. It sold for over $90k (same car was even more expensive the following years) after taxes and fees and was ordered in dec of 2012. It included upgrades like TECH PACKAGE, ano roof, ound studio package, appa leather, ctive air suspension, nd supercharger hardware. 31,411 miles.
I'm selling my Tesla Model S 85kWh with a low reserve. I purchased this Model S at auction with the hopes of fixing it up myself- I now have a baby and no time to finish. There appears to be minimal damage but it has been difficult to find any part cars in my area and there no body shops authorized to work on Teslas in Alabama. As you can see in the pictures this car has slight damage to the front left fender. The area is approximately 6in x3in and is hardly noticeable. In the pictures I am using a jump box since the small 12 volt battery is dead-so I can't close the hood fully- it does fully close- it just can't with the jump box hooked up. The main car battery appears to work correctly.
On a Tesla forum the previous owner describes the damage and reports that he drove off the road and into a basketball goal. this caused damage to the front bumber cover and components attached to the bumper cover. It also bent front left radiator. I purchased another radiator and I replaced it with one easily found on eBay. There are several plastic front pieces that are cracked and the tubing going to that radiator is broken- these parts have been harder to find on eBay. Some of the front plastic pieces may be repaired- I am unsure of the exact names but essentially the damaged parts include plastic air intake, lastic radiator air shroud, nd the hard plastic cover that goes under the car- Probably easily be fixed with a heat gun. A couple of the plugs on the front wiring harness will need to be replaced, nd the glass roof is cracked- I was quoted $1300 over the phone to replace by Tesla in Atlanta but I've seen several on eBay much cheaper. The 12 volt battery is dead- this battery is used to unlock the doors and turn on the screen before the large battery takes over- I've seen that the lifespan on the OEM 12 volt batteries are not great. I currently just hook up a jump box to the battery and the car lot runs and drives as needed.
Overall this is a beautiful car- there are obviously other scratches and scuffs and some mounting tabs and screws that will be needed; But if someone has access to more parts that what can be found on eBay or any connections with a good shop then they could get a loaded Model S for a great deal. Interior in great shape- was a well taken care of car. I have title in hand- salvage title. I can drive it in my neighborhood, nd it can easily drive on and off a trailer for transport- but you would need to finish fixing everything and get rebuilt title before it would be considered road worthy. It would be classified as 'lot runs and drives.' You would not be able to drive it home, ut you can definitely drive it around and onto a trailer.
I had sold this to someone on ebay previously but they never paid and kept dragging it out. At the end of the auction I will need a $500 deposit via Paypal within 24 hour of winning and full payment within 7 days of winning. I have perfect feedback and have been on eBay for 15 years.

I have had a lot of questions and so I wanted to include some of my longer answers on here so everyone could have the same info- If you have any further questions don't hesitate to message me.
I don't know what all will be needed- I know there is several cracked plastic parts -that go in the front under the bumper cover- there is a broken tube that goes to the radiator and it will need a new glass roof. Also will need tabs repaired on bumper cover and final assembly of all those front parts.
yes- I have driven it in the neighborhood without any error messages, xcept that it says 12 volt battery is low. I believe the 3g is working because google maps and internet work...but I am not paying for it- so really don't know how that works. Sunroof is broken and will need to be fixed.

Before I purchased the car, neighbor who repairs a few cars each year at his house looked at the pictures and told me it would be an easy fix...well what he and I did not know is that you can't purchase parts from Tesla- you can't even have them replace the 12 volt battery without paying for them to do an inspection that was going to cost $1300. So basically the best bet is for someone to either suck it up and pay the $1300 fee or to get the needed parts from a salvage car and have a shop install them. I don't know but mythinking that it would be best to leave Tesla out of it and just do it all yourself- I think the only drawback is that you surely couldn't get them to upgrade it to the autopilot hardware without the inspection.
I haven't repaired or painted anything- from what I can tell there has never been any body work or paint in the past. It really doesn't show much damage, ut it appears that the front plastic bumper cover was hit and it cracked those front plastic pieces. I've been trying to keep an eye out and have yet to see these parts on eBay. I think most of it could be done by someone with some experience if they can get the parts.

I don't know what all will be needed. it appears that it has never been painted or fixed in the past...but after I purchased it I took off the front bumper cover and front components to confirm that there was no sub frame damage- Which there is not. I have put everything back in place, ut all those components (like fog lights etc) will need final installation. When I took off the damaged radiator I had to drain the radiator fluid...this radiator tube and fluids would be needed before driving it for a long period of time.

'Lot runs and drives' is a classification that the insurance companies use to show that it can be powered up and driven enough to be loaded up on a trailer instead of having to pay for a wrecker. As far as repairs needed- I don't know what all would be needed. I know about all the items listed but it is just too complex for someone like me without any experience to do by myself. The company I purchased it from was a broker that buys bulk cars from insurance auctions and resells them. Its an amazing car, nd if you have experience fixing cars and patience; it would be an amazing car.
