1979 TOYOTA FJ-40 **** EUROPEAN MODEL-RARE RIGHT HAND DIRVE FJ FROM NEW ZEALAND ****** UNIT NUMBER-2679 FJ VIN-FJ40286641 assembled in the Toyota plant in Christchurch New Zealand. The orginal manufacture strickers from Staels Motor Assemblies. LTD. Christchurch. New Zealand are still on the fire wall and 3F Engine. 3F Engine was a factory replacement in Christchurch. New Zealand in 1982 at 19000 Kilometers. FJ has appox. 125000 Kilometers on it. Which in appox. 78000 orignal miles. It runs strong. no power steering and has drums brakes all the way around. Cruises at 100km/hr. which is 62 mph all day long. Have driven this thing all over Colorado. Last compression check: 125 119 120 120 114 121 (2013). The all orginal fj-40 was imported to Texas in 2008. The only rust on it then was the rear sill. Witch I have replaced with a new one. All systems and guages work. See list below of the restoration work completed over the last 2years and work done with in the last 3500 kilometers. Frame. Front & Rear Bumpers. Underbody & Wheel wells were treated w/Rust-oleum rust stripper. sanded to remove surface rust and dirt. Then treated w/Loctite Rust Neutralizer. primed & painted w/Rust-oleum protective enamel & truck bed liner in wheel wells and rear end. Side steps are patched and sprayed with truck bed liner. Got a lot of rock chips on the lower part of the FJ due to dirt/rock/and off roads here in Colorado. So I sprayed the bottom 4inches of the FJ's rear with black truck bed liner to prevent additional chipping. New exhaust muffler Rebuilt rear diff w/pinion seal New fuel filter and Carb. adjusted New radiator Fresh oil and filter change New oil pan gasket New radiator fan New lower threm. housing New belts New plugs New air filter New dist. and rotor New throw out bearing and clutch kit installed w/new master. lave and res. (clutch is new catches near bottom still) New brake master installed w/ all new wheel cylinders Exterior: Re painted in the 1970's classic Mustard Yellow w/ White Top. Haven't had the time to mess with. Also. left rear door inner hardware could be replaced. It works and not good. Drum brake need adjusting a lot on this FJ. The front knuckles have started to leak a bit. Have a knuckle rebuild kit that will go with the FJ. Lots of extra parts too.
