This may be a very simple model 4Runner but its still a Toyota! It is a champ and runs great!
She's 15 and she does have some maintenance needs:
All interior electronics work except for one of the cigarette lighter ports. Has cruise control. Radio/cassette/CD player. AC blows cold. Heater blows hot. All lights and signals work. Rear window defroster works, s does rear wiper. Tires are fair. Has tow hitch. Has the retractable and removable trunk cover - in good condition as I've never used it.
No rips or tears in fabric or carpet. Heavy duty floor mats.Engine is amazing! Transmission is tight.I am NOT a mechanic but I can show all maintenance and work records since I've had it.
I've had this truck for nine years. I've tried to take very good care of it. The only reason I don't invest in these maintenance issues and keep it for the rest of my life is that I need something bigger for future plans. I know how sound it is therefore I'm confident about the asking price. It is a great investment.
Upon seeing the vehicle report and seeing that one accident was reported - The accident was caused by an elderly gentleman whose brakes faltered on him, ausing him to not be able to stop, herefore rear-ending the car behind me, hich in turn smashed into my rear tow hitch. There was absolutely no damage to the 4Runner. The accident was minor and no one was injured. It was reported to police because there was a baby in the car behind me and we just wanted to make sure all precautions were taken to ensure everyone's well-being.
Thanks for looking!
She's 15 and she does have some maintenance needs:
- MOST IMPORTANTLY - She needs a new rack and pinion. Drives well enough but not as stable as it should be in the front end. Definitely should not drive it long distance. If you are out of the area and interested, lan on towing.
- The hood paint is fading.
- A few very small dings in the body from rocks or whatnot.
- No rust.
- No cracks in glass.
- AC button broke off and therefore cannot disengage the AC compressor. You can turn the fan off, ou can run hot air, ut you cannot get the AC button to disengage - needs to be taken apart at the dash.
- No leaks.
- Needs something that is attached to the EGR system, ot the valve itself (will get info from mechanic). This issue causes the "check engine" light to stay on, nd she is therefore sluggish on the first drive of the day. After she warms up, ou'd never know anything was wrong!
- There is also some little brake pump part that helps the system stop smoothly - it needs to be replaced - only to stop smoothly. Brakes work fine! Just not as smooth as it could be.
- I have lost the remote keyless clicker.
- It only has ONE KEY.
- And lastly, he dreaded "Air Bag" light flashes. None of the airbags have ever been deployed!!! Toyota mechanic says they are just a pain in the ass to deal with, ost likely a short "somewhere" in the system that will most typically cause the air bag to NOT deploy on impact. His solution was to replace the whole thing which costs almost as much as I'm asking for! Second opinion on this - mechanic said put tape over the flashing light and don't worry about it.
