Description

The story:

I purchased this truck brand new in August of 2000 at Vacaville Toyota in Vacaville, A. I am currently active duty military and have been stationed in CA, V, X, K & AR since the time of purchase. During this time, he truck has been registered & titled, y me, n CA, V, amp; OK. I am currently stationed in Arkansas. This was my dream truck of the late 90s and have babied it for the last 15 years. It has been an amazing vehicle (the best I’ve ever owned) and has NEVER let me down.

Maintenance:

Being a mechanic by trade in the military, have done 100% of the maintenance to this truck. I have an extensive log (see pictures) of all preventative/scheduled maintenance. For most of the life of the truck, used Castrol Syntec Blend (5w-30) and then at 75K miles switched over to fully synthetic Mobil 1 (5w-30). After the switch to synthetic motor oil, bumped the oil change interval up to 5k miles from 3K. All differentials (front and rear), ransmission and transfer case have been changed per the manual using fully Synthetic 75w-90 Valvoline Hypoid gear Oil. The coolant has been changed three times during the life of the truck. The spark plugs have been changed once. I replaced the OEM shocks with a set of Rough Country’s at approx 80k miles. The truck is on its second set of tires (see pics). They are Khumo 31x10.5x15 Road Venture ATs. The truck is on it’s original clutch and still works great (I know how to operate a clutch properly). I estimate (based on clutch travel from new) its got about another 40% of life left in it.

Use:

The truck spent most of its 109,000 miles on the highway at 70mph. As you can see, n its physical condition, t has spent very little time off road. I did, er Toyota’s recommendation in the manual, ngage the 4WD and the rear locker once a month just to keep things lubed up and free. 75% of its life, he truck has been stored inside a garage.

Mechanical Condition:

  • Truck runs and drives like brand new. The alignment is perfect and the truck tracks straight on the highway.
  • Every system works - AC/Heat, WD, ocker, ower Windows, tereo, tc
  • NO LEAKS UNDERNEATH. This truck doesn't leak one single drop.
  • There are a couple rattles every now and then from the front left portion of the bumper. I’m pretty sure its something simple and plastic. There is also a light dash rattle at times. The truck has done this since new and was a known problem right out of the factory. I have solved this by occasionally sticking a piece of folded paper between the dash and the window. Works great and you can't even see it!

Interior:

The interior is absolutely a 9.5 out of 10. Very clean, lmost unused. This has got to be the cleanest 2000 Tacoma interior ever on Ebay. Let the pictures speak for themselves. The only noticeable problems in the interior are the following:

  • A light stain in the extra cab near the rear seat belt latches. I did my best to try and remove it, ut ran out of time. It could probably be easily removed with some extra scrubbing.
  • The drivers side OEM floor mat has some light wear under the clutch and gas pedals respectively. (see pics) This is just light wear, o holes or anything.
  • There are a couple minor stains here and there (normal wear and tear for a 15 yo truck) that could be easily taken out

Exterior:

  • Again, et the pictures speak for themselves.
  • The truck has normal wear and tear. A few scratches here and there. There are notable scratches above the driver's door (coat hanger lock out procedures gone wrong). Small dent on left front side of the bed. A couple minor dents in the rear bumper.
  • A few years ago, hit a small deer with the truck at about 35Mph. The airbags DID NOT inflate. It DID NOT do any damage to any painted surface on the truck (including the hood). The deer was literally the size of the plastic grill between the headlights. I replaced the radiator support, adiator, /C condenser, adiator fan/clutch, rill and bumper. I decided not to replace the radiator fan cowling (as you can see in the video and pics). I did all of the repair work myself with money from a small insurance claim i made on the truck.

Frame Condition / Underbody

  • Let the pictures speak for themselves. This truck has never been in a salt environment and has no rust of the frame rails or underbody. Underneath, ou will only see normal, urface rust.
  • All of the U-Joints have had grease in them at every oil change.

Why I’m Selling it:

  • I just bought an 07 Tundra. Needed more space for the family. Its as simple as that.
  • I also bought a boat. Figured I would need more power to tow.
  • I hope I don’t regret selling her, t has been one heck of a truck (have I told you that yet?).

Looking Forward:

  • The truck hasn't had its timing belt changed yet. It was on my list, ut didn't get to it.
  • I had planned on a spray in bedliner but never got around to it
  • Some of the paint is coming off of the from plastic grill. Prob could use some paint.
  • The tires prob have about 15k of use left on them.

A couple things:

- I debadged(removed the chromeToyotaemblems) the truck about 6 years ago. Thought it was a cleaner look.- If you have less than a 50 feedback rating, lease message me prior to bidding. If you place a bid and don't attempt to communicate with me, will remove your bid. Please take no offense to this. I'm just trying to save some time and make the auction fair for those who are serious. Thanks for your understanding. Happy bidding.
