The real selling point of this truck though is the TRD designed, actory installed SUPERCHARGER. This takes the standard 4.0L V6 to 304 HP and 334 ft-lbs of torque. Makes this truck super fun to drive, nd extremely powerful. This is a $5,000 option, nd was only installed on a few thousand vehicles. TRD has since discontinued production of these superchargers, nd finding one for sale can be a real challenge. Highly desirable option for any Tacoma enthusiast.
We bought this truck with 45,000 miles, nd have put about that much on it ourselves. We have loved having it, nd had plans to keep it many more years, ut are selling it for the sake of getting something more practical for our family now that we have a child. Mileage will continue to go up slightly, s we are still driving this vehicle, hough it may be coming off the road soon.
It has a small dent and a few superficial rust spots on the rear bumper, ome fading of the paint on the door handles, nd a hole in one of the headlight housings. The steering column u-joint started to develop some corrosion a year or two ago. I have been keeping it loosened up with regular lubrication. I have not had any trouble with it as long as I spray some lube on it every few months, ut you could replace it if you wanted to. No other problems, no warning lights, nd no mechanical issues.
I understand that I am asking a lot for this truck. To the right person, this is a rare and valuable vehicle. I encourage anyone interested in it to try driving this model without the supercharger, nd then come drive mine. Feel the difference.
