Description

I am parting with my 1998 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4. I bought this truck back in 2005 from the family of the original owner. They were an older couple who lived in West Virginia. and later gave it to their daughter and husband who I bought it from. I suppose I am the third owner. but I count one family as one owner! The good thing about these folks is that they kept every record. When I say every record. I mean EVERY single record from the first oil change at 3K miles on. I have this stack of folded papers along with the bit that I've added over the past decade. I know every single inch of this truck and I can tell you the story behind every dent. Now the important stuff. The truck has never been in a wreck. The closest thing was when I accidentally backed into a concrete pole. see bent bumper. The other blemish on the outside is a hand-sized dent on the front top. near the sunroof (it is still fully operational). That was when a tree fell on it in D. C. and literally saved three cars parked on either side of me. See tumblr link. As I said. I bought the truck in 2005. It had just over 106. 00 miles on it. Ten years later. it has almost 175. 00 miles. Also. in the time I've owned it. it has NEVER gone above 75 mph. not even once. I drive like a grandpa. In that ten years. TWO people have driven it. Myself and (probably 5 times) my girlfriend. I don't let anyone drive it. save for the guy who does the inspection and maybe the oil change dude. My buddy was a Toyota mechanic for 10 years and says the truck is mechanically in excellent shape. The only lingering problem is leaky inner axle seals on the rear brakes. or something like that. It should be a couple hundred bucks at most to fix. There was a new timing belt (I have all records) installed at over 152. 00 miles along with a full tune-up. Oil changes have been consistent at 3000 miles. even though they say you can go to 6K or more now. As you can see. I bought new tires a few years back. They are Goodyear DuraTrac tires a ton of life left. It has a full 2" tow package w/ hitch. Leather seats. I installed a Sirius/XM radio. which I will gladly remove. but there will be small screw holes where I mounted the player. The carpets are mostly in great condition. The AC blows cold. The heat is excellent. What else can I say. this truck has been my baby for ten years and I'm sad to give it up. but it was just time to get something smaller. I will gladly answer any questions or provide any more pics you need. I will only accept a cashier's check. I have the title and transfer papers from TXDoT. I made a tumblr page for the truck a year or two back when I thought I was going to sell it. I was going to ask for $5000. but knocked off $500 for the brake work and maybe you can have it professionally cleaned if you want. Please check that out for more pics and info. 98toyota4runner(DOT)tumblr(DOT)comMake me an offer I can't refuse. Cheers. nbsp;James
