Description

I am the 2nd owner of this truck. but the first owner was my step-father and he is extremely anal-retentive. I bought the truck from him in May 2010 and began adding on. The truck has a clean leaf sprung axle swap as well as some custom one-off body modifications. The truck is lifted roughly 13" and sits on 37" Boggers with 16. 5x14 Weld Mountain Crushers. ExteriorThe truck has had a front-end update to the current 2012-2015 Tacoma front clip. All lighting. other than turn signals have been converted to LED. The antenna and tailgate have both been shaved. The entire cab has been torn down and re-painted the toyota factory Silver Streak Metallic. The front windows have been tinted to match the factory rear glass. The windshield is tinted 50%. The grill is a one of a kind with a 10. 00 lumen led light bar integrated behind it. InteriorThe interior has a few scratches and normal wear and tear from being driven daily. There is a hole in the drivers side seat bolster from sliding in and out. Weathertech Floormats throughout. EngineFactory 4. 0L V-6. unmodified. SuspensionThe truck has been converted from IFS to Solid front axle. The frame has been plated from the first cab mount all the way up to the front spring hanger. The axle came out of a 1978 Ford F-250 pickup. It's an HD-Dana 44 with 1/4" thick axle tubes. and completely rebuilt and machined outters with flattop knuckles from a 1976 Chevrolet K-10 and Toyota solid axle wheel studs. The axle is geared 4:88 with Yukon gears and a Detroit Locker up front with Warn Premium hubs. and Yukon Chromoly axle shafts and the recommended Spicer universal joints. The springs are new Skyjacker softride springs for a late 70's Wagoneer and give a considerably good ride mated with the 18" travel Bilstein 5100 shock. I swapped out the transfer case from the electronic factory Tacoma case to a manual shift FJ cruiser transfer case ($1100) and everything has been properly wired so that the indicator lights function properly in the instrument cluster. In the rear of the truck. I had Alcan springs Make me a custom 10" leaf spring pack and added a 3 inch block for a total 13 inches of lift. The rear axle was geared 4:88 with Yukon gears and a Detroit Trutrac. The truck has a power band better than a stock Tacoma. Wheels/TiresThe wheels are a very rare. 16. 5x14 Weld Mountain Crusher. The fact that they are 6 lug is what makes them exceptionally rare. These wheels came off of a Chevrolet Silverado that was featured at the Las Vegas SEMA show in the early 2000's. The tires are 37" Super Swamper Boggers with 3/4 tread left. Audio/VideoPioneer Appradio 3single 10" Powerbass sub in a Tacotunes subwoofer box and a bridged powerbass amp. Awards/CoverageThe truck was in an accident January 31. 2014. There was zero structural damage. the axle and leafs springs were basically knocked from beneath the truck. The body had very little damage to the drivers side lower bumper. Insurance. due to the axle swap had no idea what they were looking at and immediately estimated repairs to be in excess of $16. 00. Without the cost of the front-end update. the replacement cost of the front axle. driveshafts. and transfer case. cost me less than $4. 00. The truck is solid.
