Description

For sale is a first generation 2002 RAV4 EV with just over 40k miles along with 3 SPI chargers (2 with wall mounts). It is a very nice electric car.
The car overall is in excellent/very good condition and drives well. As you can see from the photos, the interior and exterior are in excellent condition.
A little over a year ago, I bought the car from a person in CA and brought it to VA. He had been driving it around on a salvage certificate because the car had some front bumper damage and since this first generation car is no longer made it was deemed a salvage car. When I brought the vehicle back to VA, through a very trusted family friend who owns a body shop in Richmond, I had the front bumper and the metal supports for it perfectly repaired using Toyota parts. There was no other damage to the vehicle other than the front bumper as described. It now has a clear rebuilt title.
I really love this electric automobile. However, I now have 4 vehicles and am planning to part with 2 of them.
There are many fans of the first generation RAV4 EVs. There is an excellent online discussion community of first generation RAV4 EV owners who give tips and guidance to each other and Darrell's evnut webpage is a great resource for these vehicles. You can also read about the first generation 2002 RAV4 EV at wikipedia online by searching on that site for RAV4 EV.
In addition to the 3 SPI chargers, I will include a 2002 RAV4 EV repair manual as part of the sale. The 3 chargers should provide you with the ability to charge the vehicle from more than one location. The prior owner kept a charger in the car and had a conversion unit to use a so-called "J plug" charger commonly found today at many charging stations. There are a few resources who sell these conversion units. I never got around to buying one. Of course, given this car's age, it and everything else is sold AS IS, however, I just drove it one hour ago before I typed this and I am unaware of any issues with the car. It has been (both with me and its prior owner) a very well kept car.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is due within 48 hours from the close of the auction. The buyer will be responsible for transporting the car and I am happy to coordinate with the successful buyer on these issues.
Good luck with your bidding.
