This Toyota 4Runner has been serviced regularly from new. I have plenty of service records to provide to the winning bidder. This 4Runner has gone through a full pre-purchase inspection. -- Here she is in all her glory -- At this price, and with a little TLC, you’ll have a great SUV with a nice combination of cosmetics, mechanicals, options, and service history. Here's the deal: -- This is a 2001 Toyota 4Runner SR5 in gold metallic with tan interior, with matching carpets and headliner. It looks very nice for the mileage; normal signs of road use, a few dings and scratches, but the body looks very nice, and the interior does as well. -- -- Exterior 6.5 out of 10 – Good condition original paint, body, glass, and trim. Only a few dings, and scuffs/scratches. This 4Runner will be fully detailed prior to delivery and will look very nice. -- -- The lower side-body moldings are in good shape. Other than a few bubbles on the hood, the body is free of rust. The chrome bumpers ae rusting out as old chrome is known for, but they can be replaced easily at any salvage yard for very little money, The rubber, glass, and trim are all good. Very little oxidation, fade, wear, etc. as you might expect of an 15 year old SUV with over 200K miles. Look at the body panels.....they are nice and straight. Clean title and a clean SUV! -- -- This 4Runner has automatic trans, 4WD, ice-cold A/C, moonroof, power windows, AM/FM/cassette with new power antenna, alarm, keyless entry and much more. Even dealer accessories like running boards and roof-rack cross bars! -- -- Let’s get to its service history, which is what this SUV is all about. I have it documented back to 105K miles, and then the carax and Toyota pick it up from there. This 4Runner was maintained properly. In its recent history, it has received spark plugs, coil packs, synthetic blend oil and filter changes, engine drive belts, new exhaust form the cat back, new 4x4 switches and wiring, valve cover gasket, air filter, front sway bar links, rear drums, rear shocks, LF inner tie rod, alignment, PCV valve, and a complete timing belt job at 184,254 miles! -- -- It currently wears its factory 16” OEM alloys. All are true and in decent condition with some curb rash and fade to center caps. The matching Michelin SUV tires are all in great shape with about 60% tread remaining. This Toyota 4Runner goes arrow-straight down the road at high speed with no shimmy, pull, or anything else. -- -- Interior 7.25 out of 10 - The interior overall including seating, door panels, seat padding, dash, console, and carpets are in very good original condition. Only normal to below normal wear to the interior, with some marks to headliner and rear hatch area. Everything looks and feels nice, although it needs a steering wheel cover. -- -- The door panels and trim are also good, like the rest of the truck. -- -- Even the hatch and spare are very nice for 200K+ miles! -- -- Electrical 10 out of 10 – Lights (except for gear indicator and some dash lights), switches, radio, windows, wipers, and power mirrors work. Power lock system, remote key fob, etc operating as they should. -- -- The suspension system was serviced recently and is operating properly with no clunks or thunks. The service history is great. The HVAC system is fast to respond, and operates perfectly with scalding hot heat and ice-cold A/C. -- -- Mechanical 9 out of 10 with one exception- Engine starts, idles, runs, and revs to redline in every gear smooth and strong. Transmission is smooth with no issues. Downshifts eagerly and upshifts seamlessly. No abrupt engagement, just silky smooth shifts. The 4WD system works properly. There is a CEL for a misfire that needs to be addressed. It is not a big problem like low compression or head gasket. It is fuel or electrical in nature, because the truck will run fine, then misfire for a bit, and then go back to running fine again with no issues. It could be fuel related, like filter/pump/injector, or electrical like wire/coil/plug/etc. Because there are times when it runs perfectly, and other times that it misfires, it can not be an significant engine problem because something like a bad head gasket or low compression would be present 100% of the time. -- -- This 4Runner passed its mechanical inspection with two exceptions; the misfire noted above, and it needs rear brakes and brake lines (maintenance). For a low-priced SUV, it’s a sweet ride. -- -- Engine is strong and eager to run, transmission smooth. Brake pedal feel is firm. Suspension is tight, no worn tie rod ends, ball joints, etc. Steering nicely weighted. No weird noises. This 4Runner drives and handles great. It comes with books, one master key with remote fob, extensive documented service history, and recent repair invoices. No expense spared maintenance and repairs! -- -- This 2001 Toyota 4Runner SR5 would make a great college kid car, station car, or even a winter commuter. -- -- At the BIN price, I will provide the following: A full $200 detailing including engine bay, carpet shampoo, leather conditioning, orbital polishing, etc. I'll also supply Toughguard protectant for the paint, which you have to see to believe.
