A description from the person I bought it from:The car: '85 Toyota MR2 (the engine came from an '86) The car is totally stripped. The engine was rebuilt about 2 years ago and has roughly 250 autocross miles on it. when I rebuilt the engine I was planning to run stock and therefore built it OEM. Kirkey intermediate racing seat. 5-point harness. custom braided brake lines with dual proportioning valves (adjust back and front seperately) Ground Control coil-over kit with Eibach springs (spring rates: front:300 / rear:450) Suspension Tech anti-sway bar (front: 21mm) custom strut brace custom exhaust with Supertrapp lexans side windows and I have enough lexan for the rear. just never got around to it. the windshield should be replaced with lexan as well. it was on the list. it has a Crane Fire Ball HI2000 with PS92 coil custom 8. 8 plug wires I have the complete dash and rear bumper. just in case someone wants to setup it up for ITA. The original builder and I discussed it in 2007. here is what he said:"There is no title for the car. it was built from 2 scrap cars. both came from a buddy of mine's body shop. one had had gone into a pole at very great speed nose first. That is where the engine came from. The body came from a car with nearly 200. 00 miles and the engine was in pieces. They are both from Oklahoma. "Details on the car as I originally bought it in 2004:'85 Toyota MR2 SCCA Solo II DP This is a very solid bodied car in excellent condition with an American flag paint scheme. My notes from 2004-2005: Winter 2004. purchased used Momo seats & installed in early 2005 along with belts. Being able to seat two people is important to advancing one's autocrossing skills. Fixed a strange idle-bounce issue with the engine. Somewhere along the line. somebody had remove the Auxiliary Air Valve (AAV) coolant feed from the throttle body. Well. after much testing and head scratching I discovered the AAV is "open" when cold. and only closes once the coolant becomes warm and closes the valve. Thus the engine essentially had a huge vacuum leak when warm. I also suspect that during the 2005 NeDiv. the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) went bad because the egine "fell-on-its-face" as I was driving to pre-stage the second day of the event. and later checks indicated that it was out of spec. And from 2005-2006: Purchased a set of used Keizer 13x9 wheels. Although 7" is the max wheel width allowed in DP with no penalty. up to a 10" wide rim can be used with a weight penalty assesment (2005-75lbs). so I may do some tests with these wheels. Drilled/slotted rotors. race brake padsNew rear sway barReplace suspension bushings with poly bushingsReplace driver side front strut rod due to fracked threadsReplace strut inserts (shocks) with Koni adjustablesReplace steering wheel with smaller MOMO wheel and shifter knob with blingie ball. These are on probation. The wheel stays. the knob has been replaced with small screw on aluminum ball. Replace sway bar end links with rod-end barsReplace oil & filter and transaxle fluid with Amsoil synth fluidsInstall solid brass shifter bushingsPurchase a used set of Hoosier 22x9 tires and mounted on Keizer wheelsHomebrew alignment.
