Description

What a remarkable Toyota pickup! I found this truck about a year ago and purchased it from the original owner. At that time it had just over 11. 00 original miles! The truck was purchased new from Norwalk Toyota in Southern California. This 91 Toyota has spent its entire life stored indoors…it has never sat outside overnight while in my possession and according to the original owner it never sat out with him as well. When I am not driving the truck it is always placed indoors and tucked away. This truck is completely original from its paint to the upholstery…the dash and engine bay. undercarriage…its all super nice. The interior is in fantastic condition with no damage anywhere and no brittle parts. the rubber is perfect all over this truck. park this truck next to a new one on a Toyota lot and there isn't much difference…driven only 11. 00 miles in its first 24 years! Don't let that concern you because the original owner kept it clean and waxed and would drive it around a local small airport to keep things lubricated and exercised. When I bought this truck it had aftemarket chrome wheels that were honestly quite ugly. The original owner had kept the factory steel wheels and plastic caps up in the rafters of his hangar since new! I removed the ugly non factory wheels and put the barely used (delivery miles) Toyota steel wheels back on with brand new tires at all 4 corners. the original tires were brand new still on the rims but too old to run safely. The truck was serviced at Toyota of Glendora which included having the oil/filter changed and new cap. rotor. spark plugs and wires. The service dept at the dealer was astonished at the truck and its low mileage and condition. needless to say I had several service guys wanting to buy it at the time but I wasn't selling. in fact I get asked a lot to sell the truck but I wasn't selling and honestly most "buyers" are hoping I will tell them a cheap number so they can score a practically brand new 1991 Toyota pickup. I just never bothered with any of them. So now I have decided to sell my pickup…why you might ask? Well…I was looking for a work truck when I found this 91…of course after finding it and purchasing it I have been very careful with it. lets just say I am WAY careful with it. It is too nice a pickup and the mileage is so low that I treat it with the care and preservation it deserves…I simply can't just use it everyday as a work truck and watch it rack up miles and run the risk of some L. A. driver hitting this rare preserved pickup. I have driven approx. 7300 miles since I got it so its not a "been sitting" vehicle. So thats the only reason why its for sale. When this truck leaves I will find a clean but "nothing special" pickup that I can use for work. This 91 pickup doesn't deserve that fate and again it should be preserved. 18. 64 original miles…(Mileage may increase slightly before auction end) So just how clean is it you ask? Well look at the pictures…yes its that clean. The paint shines. the interior looks new. The dash has no cracks or warps etc. the dash face is perfect. I don't think the sun visors have ever been lowered! Check out behind the bench seat. Look at the decals on the sides and tailgate. I posted pics of the door jambs and all sorts of nook and crannies that most sellers won't show you. I would say the only interior flaws are the original floor mats. they show about 18k miles worth of gentle use. but they are floor mats and still look great and you can buy a new set on ebay if you want to. the carpet underneath is flawless. Everything works…every gauge…the window cranks. radio. clock. A/C. heat…it all works and great…. what you would expect from an 18k mile truck that has been taken care of. Is the body straight? Is there any rust? Any repairs? Yes it has an extremely straight body with only a couple minor shallow smooth dings. again the paint looks fantastic with only a slight fade on top of the drivers fender…Like a couple spots that I will post pics of. You will find a small chip in the paint on the top of the hood and perhaps if you look very very hard you may find a couple more but its 24 years old and I can tell you this truck is in better shape then most 1 year old vehicles. …I will post up pics. something did chip the paint on the drivers side of the hood where the hood rolls down to meet the grill…I will post a pic of that as well. This is a So. Cal truck since new and stored indoors…it has NO rust whatsoever…none. The undercarriage is as clean as the top and still retains the factory codes on the frame etc. all the hardware is clean. theres no crustiness under this truck. again. stored indoors its whole life. Any repairs…. No. original paint everywhere…even the gray painted lower valance under the beautiful chrome bumper is free from damage. So does it run good? Yeah…it runs and drives like an 18k mile toyota should…end of story. No issues…its got the fuel injected 4 cylinder and automatic trans…it starts. drives. stops. shifts. turns and rides like it should. What are those things on the leaf springs? Those are leaf spring helpers…the original owner installed them because he bought the truck to haul an ATV…being an elderly gentleman at that time he decided it wasn't the best thing for him to do so they never used the truck to haul anything. I left them on there…they have been on there since 1991 and of course look like they were installed yesterday. Is the title clean? Yes and in my name and with me. California title. Passed California smog easily…the smog guys had to look twice at the odometer. and yes they wanted to buy it too. Who installed the bed liner? The dealer when the truck was purchased new…its a genuine Toyota liner. No I have never removed it to check out the bed. I would presume its flawless since the liner was installed at the time of purchase. Is this truck 100% perfect in every way? No…. It's 97% Perfect in my opinion…this truck has some slight flaws. If anyone tells you their vehicle is flawless and perfect in every way I would run unless your standing in front of it to see it for yourself…we all know photos can mislead. Some sellers are quite good at it…I will represent this truck for what it is. Is it remarkable shape wise. absolutely. but let me rundown the flaws that you will notice if you were here looking at the truck in person…. 1. The windshield- Its original and was 100% perfect until a few months ago when something (I don't know what?) hit the passenger side and made an almost perfect circular crack…Needless to say I freaked when I heard the hit…I pulled over and inspected the truck. Only the windshield took the hit. nothing hit the paint/body. thank goodness. A new windshield can be installed and your back to what it was when I got it. I never replaced it. I left the original windshield in. You will want to replace it. 2. The body and paint- A couple shallow smooth dings (probably would pop out)…Some faint scratches on the driver side bed. and a small chip on the hood about the size of a sunflower seed and the larger chip in the hood where the hood rolls down to the grill (never touched up). If you open the tailgate and look between the tailgate and the bed you can see a couple scratches there in between… Those were there when I bought it and I am telling you about them but they are really insignificant. overall this is a beautiful original low mileage truck and I would say one of the nicest in the country left with this kind of mileage. Is there a lower mileage one out there in better shape? Maybe…I don't rule out anything but show it to me. Cant be many left like this survivor. What is your reserve? Please don't ask…I won't tell. Can I buy it now? I don't have a buy it now option… Will you ship? I will assist with the shipper…meaning I will meet up with the driver at my location and make sure he/she loads it up…of course only AFTER payment is received and all funds have cleared. I prefer a wire transfer or cash in person. The truck won't leave until all funds are 100% verified. Again…bank wire or cash in person and if its cash in person we will go to the bank and have the teller check it out. too many scammers out there…if your real and want the truck this shouldn't be an issue…no exceptions. Does the vehicle have a warranty? NO…. absolutely not…its a minty truck but it is 24 years old. This 1991 Toyota pickup is sold as-is and where is. My descriptions are according to my opinion on the condition of the truck. I have owned many low mileage vehicles and have sold a few vehicles on EBAY and all of them were smooth and happy deals…If anything I have had buyers tell me the vehicle(s) they have bought from me were nicer than they thought…I like that. I want you to say that. No one wants to hear how awesome a vehicle is only to get it and it looks like a train wreck…it's happened to me with a couple vintage cars…sellers were liars. I don't like it to happen to me so thats why I am posting lots of pics and telling you about the truck. Are you a dealer? Absolutely not…. I am a private seller. I enjoy pretty much all cars and trucks. If I find something I like I buy it and enjoy it. sometimes for years but when I am done I move it along…I have sold 2 cars on ebay…a 67 bug and a 64 Volvo 1800s…. both fantastic cars and they went to happy and satisfied owners…and this was over the span of a few years. I have sold several old cars privately and never misrepresented any of them. again. these were my vehicles that I enjoyed and bought for myself. some for a few months and some a few years…
