Opels like these don't come up for sale very often. I am selling my 1971 Opel GT that I swore I'd never sell and the only reason I am selling now is to pay for huge lawyer fees which I incurred to obtain full custody of my children (they are safe now). The only things I love more than my Opel is my wife and children. Don't bid on this if you don't have the ability to pay. My daughter and twin autistic sons are the ones you'd hurt if there is no money received and we lose our lawyer for non payment! (as custody battles never end) I searched for several years on Ebay and Opel clubs for sale posting across the country until I found this Opel for sale in Texas in 2009. It has had well over $16. 00 in work done to it. It has been kept in an garage which is temperature and humidity are controlled and 100% of sunlight is blocked. The only bad thing is it has sat there for more than 2 years now and the fluids should be flushed. There are no scratches or dents of any kind on this Opel. The light buckets work well and the hood and doors all shut perfect like a safe. The chrome is excellent (except the weather stripping chrome) . The interior is immaculate except for one scratch 2-3 inches long on the passenger seat (shown in pic). It ran great when parked but it needs a new battery and tires and the turn signal (on steering column needs fixed). I can say with certainty since I've owned it. that it has never seen a drop of rain (or the sun for that matter unless I was driving it). It was only driven between the months of May and October to avoid any possible road salt. The lack of rust including the underside indicates this. It has had body work but you would never know it (all done by a professional). The only rust on this car is the pipe leading to the muffler which I show in the pics and on the belly pan (under the battery)(a quarter size hole is in the pan)which is typical of these cars. There are two very very small spots on the hood were the paint has bubbled. There is paint bubbled about 6-8 inches long by 1 inch wide right above the windshield in the center. This unfortunately happened when I washed it and didn't realize that the outside weather stripping did not make a good seal there. The outside weather stripping along with the chromed plastic was not replaced with new ones. It looks good from 20 feet and even in the pics but if you want it to look perfect you will want to replace them (pretty easy fix). The emblems are in a box that will be sent with the car. The best pics I have of the back have the Texas plates on but I have included a pic of Pa plates. If you have someone you would like to check this car out contact me for scheduling. Good luck bidding. I hope you care for it and love how I have! It will be greatly missed!
