2000 Volkswagen Jetta GLS 2. 0L with 122k miles on itBody condition is fine; just minor paint wear on hood. Has a number of engine issues. Pretty much had to choose between fixing or just selling. Would really only feel comfortable selling to someone who can fix cars. Would be a huge burden to anyone else. Perks: after market radio/cd/aux/usb sound system. aftermarket rims. tinted windows for heat. sunroof/moonroof. Recently changed timing belt/waterpump (within last 10k miles tops)What's wrong with it:-engine cooling system is down-- went to change thermostat and the plastic housing over it was bolted in super tight (from previous owner using a power drill?) and I couldn't get it out. Eventually removed the housing with the bottom screw still in place [photo included]. Couldn't remove the bolt at all so I can't replace housing. If this fix went smoothly. I would still be driving the car. -prior to thermostat change issue. vehicle would overheat constantly. Would run fine. but if the engine got hot and then you turned the car off. it would overheat. Never got an exact diagnosis on what was causing the overheating. May need to be flushed. I'll even throw in the new thermostat that I bought to replace with. -bad heater core--may need to do a bypass on it for the much easier fix. -A/C down. took it to the shop and they said something blew electrically around where the A/C controls are. -most recently: car battery may need a charge. Car was starting fine before but now that it's been sitting for a few weeks without driving. it won't start up.
