Description

1967 VW Beetle. Original California Car. As SOLID as they come. Very near bone stock. This was a one female owned car until 2011. I have registrations back to 1969 showing the car lived in Santa Cruz. CA. Spent a few years in the 80's in Telluride. CO and then retired in the Palm Desert. CA. The car was not used much after the early 80's and was cosmetically restored in the late 90's. It got a very good quality bare metal repaint in the original color of Savanna Beige. Glass out fenders off repaint. Interior paint left original. Some new rubber installed at that time and a new windshield. The rest of the glass in the car is original German glass. This car had no rust repair as it was not needed. Still has its original pans and they are spotless. even the battery box is solid. I believe the car was stored indoors most of it life. Interior had new carpets and seats all recovered. Headliner is original and very very nice (one dime size tear in the rear). Dash was painted in the 70's by the original owner. I left it as it tells part of the story of the car and owner. It could be removed if it is not to your taste. Super clean interior. Steering wheel is very nice. The electrical is original and in excellent shape. Only thing not working is the horn (I have never looked into it). Radio works but speaker is quiet. quiet enough you can barely hear it. The only things on this car not original are the front seats were upgraded to high backs during restoration. And two wheels are not 1967 Wheels. The Bug does have all its original one year only 1967 original parts. Like the original German front fenders. generator. horn. rear deck lid. back up lights. under seat voltage reg etc. Has original H code motor. looks to be bone stock with all its original parts under the hood. Original 67 Generator. nbsp;air box etc. It fires up intently. runs very smooth with no smoke. It really runs as good as it looks. It shifts very smooth and brakes solid. All brakes and rubber lines are brand new as are the tires. Battery is a couple years old. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere today. Runs and drives excellent. About the only thing I can think it would need is new shocks. the shocks look like they are probably original. The hood could use adjustment as when its latched it sits about 1/2 inch to one side (can't really even see it in the photos) The paint looks very good. not really any chips but a couple of light scratches that do not show in photos. really light. The hood did rub at the top edge of the body and paint is chipped there (see photo). Overall really does look like a new car. The original bumpers have been re-chromed. I can hold for 30 days while transportation arrangements are made. Reg just expired feb. I will pay the $150 to reregister if buyer is in CA. other locations will not matter. Clear CA title in Hand. I do not have the original front seats. wish I did too. This car is far better than most 67 bugs. Lots original with enough restored that you could show it today. Please ask questions before bidding. If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks. please send me an email with your contact info before bidding. If you are local and want to see/drive the car. just ask. I have a detailed photos link with over 100 photos of the car I would be happy to send to interested buyers. just ask. Car is priced under market value so that it does sell quickly. nbsp;don't wait. There are no surprises with this one. This car has never had any rust repair ever. On Apr-08-15 at 09:59:16 PDT. seller added the following information: I have had tons of questions. mostly are will I sell it for $7000-7500 now. I did just drop the reserve. I think it is a very fair price for a car with not one spec of rust every. body is laser straight and very very nice paint. The hood needs adjustment as it sits about 1/2 inch to one side. The door panels are original. Front seats are from a 1970 and the mounts are the same as the stock seats. so changing back to stock is easy. I do not have the original front seats. These were put in in the 70's and the originals are long gone. I can store while shipping arrangements are made. I can have delivered to the port of Oakland for $225 and Los angeles for $325. Most of the rubber was new when the car was repainted. Car was disassembled for paint. high quality. Restoration to the point this car is would cost more than the buy it now price. without the cost of a rust free original 1967. On Apr-09-15 at 11:43:35 PDT. seller added the following information:I dropped the "Buy it Now" price to an offer I received the first day it was listed. Reserve is not far from this price. First to use the Buy It Now. gets it. On Apr-14-15 at 16:28:08 PDT. seller added the following information:I have the Bug advertised elsewhere and reserve the right to end listing early (as long as reserve is not met). This is going to sell. so do not wait if you are a serious buyer. Reserve is very close to the Buy it now price. I feel it is closer to a $10k car. and its priced to sell.
