My friend Brian bought this from the original builder's grandson 7 years ago. and it had been dry stored for decades sitting near Sacramento California. It's probable that the 1967 VW sedan was likely purchased used for the Manx Conversion in 1969 or early 1970. The car has around 2500 miles since the original build. done in 1969-1970 with a 1969 built Meyers Manx body kit. Bruce Meyers has inspected this car since the completion of the restoration and liked it so much he signed it TWICE! The Myers Manx Registry issued authentication number #0100 and the body number is M2804C907F. Correct Myers Manx parts include:Original Sidewinder Exhaust Valve Covers Front Bumper Roll Cage German Made SIGLA Windshield License Plate Frames Original Wheels In regards to the windshield. Bruce Meyers remarked that even he personally did not have one of the original German made Sigla ones. and estimated that 5 of them are known to exist. This car has several correct era details that make it both aesthetically pleasing and conducive to experiencing Manx ownership as originally intended. The original blue California plates are both present and in immaculate condition. It has a Hurst Shifter that works perfectly. with a custom Myers Manx shift knob. It has Coco floor mats and Mexican blankets secured in the back for cool evening drives. It has a 1970's era four-hole “The 500″ Superior Performance steering wheel.
