1973 vw beetle 1600 ...ONE OWNER ORIGINAL PAINT !!! NO REPAINT !! 29000 miles

ONE OWNER CALIFORNIA BLUE PLATE CAR FROM NEW !!!!!! ORIGINAL BLUE PAINT !!! NOT REPAINTED ...............THE PAINT THAT THE CAR LEFT THE FACTORY WITH
I am a fanatic collector of classic cars and could not resist buying this beautiful rust free beetle that had been left in a garage and had not been driven or started in 20 years and had not been driven much before that hence the low low and genuine 23 000 miles that it was advertised at .............. The car was left as part of an inheritance from a grandmother that had passed that had purchased the bug new in 1973The person could not drive a manual shift car and was not interested in the old car in the garage with the scratched and " rusty " fenders............ The Grandmother had dented and scratched all four fenders and the rear bumper was dented in at the back. nobody wanted to have the headache of fixing the old car and ...... The family decided to sell ......I went with my trailer and purchased there and then .Pics are included as I took the car off my trailer with original fenders
Rented another storage garage and my mission began......... Car was not even washed ......I have all the original pics of purchase day and unloading at storage unit......... I removed the gas tank and drained old ga, rained the oi, ew oil filte, ew fuel filte, ew battery ..... she fired right up and after a few splutters and coughs ran beautifully......... off I wobbled down the road with very square tires and a useless set of shock absorbers and absolutely no brakes......... a little bit of handbrake......... so not a very long journey !!
New tires and off to mechanic who doubted the mileage..after looking at underneath etc etc .gave me a clean bill of health ..and then a pretty healthy bill on top !!!!!New oil seals all round ( engine out ) new clutch ( Imported from Germany ) release bearing etc.might as well engine is out !! New master cylinder for brake, verhaul carb......and so on and on $5000.00 worth .all the receipts on hand. Engine all origina, original exhaust system !!!! still perfect. Original link pins !!! The underneath of this car is all mint and unmolested not a mark of rust....... pics are included
I personally removed the four fenders from the car.... purchased two original fenders from a 1971 beetl, uch nicer looking tail lights . ( I have the originals with the lights etc . original scratches as I got the car ........they will be sold with the car ............... ). and had them repainted with the original factory paint......... of which there is still a can left over ,at an auto body shop where they refitted them still with the original factory rubber mouldings !!!
I fitted a new bumper to the rea, nbsp;Retro fitted a nicer looking classic steering wheel ( original .. made for California spec wheel included with car ).The upholstery and roof lining was all dried and would tear when you sat in it and roof lining was splittin, o I ordered all new factory spec seat covers and factory correct lining and had it fitted and is now mint and original looking inside . $900.00 labour for roof lining and seats recover .... All floor mat, adio etc all as from factory.......... all original .german lenses wheel caps
After driving the car for two months or so the speedo stopped working.........apparently one of the cogs inside cracked ?? Anyhow speedo replaced with a brand new factory unit.. $ 470.00 ...The original will be sold with the car ... Mileage now 1570 miles since fitting
The rest of the car is completely original and is in fantastic original condition ......All original windows. door handles, ne original coded key fits all and all door locks and functios perfect as are the operation of the windows and vents.. windshield ... mirror, nbsp;, nside door panels all original etc heating still works !!!, oors are all original and have lots of scratches and original dings ........only adding to the patin, nbsp;the value and originality of this vehicle ...drives and starts right up .70 mph down the highway all da, eliability being its killer weapon
The wiring on the car is mint and unmolested with all functions .even seat belt lights etc all working perfectly as from new .only wipers are very slow ........It never rains in California !!
I really regret having to sell this beautiful little car that I have invested over $15 000.but I have too many cars, do not drive it and I feel that it is such a waste and now I can give someone the chance to drive and enjoy now that I have made it into a perfect example of an all original and honest and unmolested piece of motoring history that is now beautifully sorted out by a really fussy owner and ready for many years of pleasure for a new owner .Definitely an investment due to originality an a very fair price ....
The very last imported VW Beetle into the U.S from Germany !!!! The metal isnoticeablythicker ...after this they were all built and imported from Mexico . I have all the receipt, ervice books and manuals. The ownership is in my hand with the signed and verified mileage at my purchase from the original owner of 23 000 miles !!!.......as you can see in the pics the car is just gorgeous............. amazing and easy to drive
