January 57 Single Cab. Lots of recent work went into it. Including a brand new powder coated 2" front beam from Punch Drunk, ew tie rods and ends and new drag link and german ATE dual Circuit Master. As well, t has a CSP wide 5 disc brake kit on the front and thing drum brakes in the rear. The truck has a straight axle kit 1915 engine that was recently rebuilt (probably has less than 5k miles on it). It has one key for all the locks (INCLUDING the treasure chest which works!). I know the gates don't match. I got these gates to replace the swiss cheese ones that came on the truck and a reproduction gerson gate. These gates are super dry and rust free. I thought I'd give the next owner the opportunity to make it how they want, f you like the Auto Upholstery logos and mismatched gates then keep it or just spray over them.
Please keep in mind this is a driver. Almost every panel on this bus has got something with it. If you like a truck you can drive and throw stuff in the back and just not care, his is a great early pressed bumper bus for that. The inside is comfy and clean and the bus is solid but not perfect. The outside needs cosmetic work. If you're thinking about top notch restoration, could imagine this bus being 10k in metal work (with metal and work). But the value in this bus is that it is really early with a lot of great parts.
THE GOOD
57 pressed bumper truck
Original pressed bumpers (yeah super hard to find and expensive)
Bubble tail light brake light decklid bus
Rust free gates (still a little bumped and might need some work)
Brand new gerson (klassic fab) rear gate
CSP front disc brakes
New German ATE Master
New Softlines and hardlines
Straight axle lowered with 1915 engine (Stainless sidewinder exhaust)
Raised Steering box (no hitting that thing)
Original brake light decklid
New Clara panels
All original large logo Sekurit Glass (except the windshields which are new cut laminate)
New cargo floors, olid and clean treasure chest
Original handles, atches and ignition
Recently reupholstered front Flat Back bench seat
Repainted powder coated crowsfoot wheels and new powdercoated and painted hubcaps
Bay window gas tank with reserve tap that works
Has Gas tank divider panels (most are missing them)
New tires Conti Pro-Contact radials on all fours (less than a couple hundred miles)
All new window and door seals
New shift bushings, hifting is super tight
Steering box is solid not a lot of play
Tons of new parts put on by the previous owner
California YOM Commercial Plates if staying in California (the letter even matches the month it was built)
THE BAD
The paint job is pretty bad, t was slapped on by the Previous Owner to keep it from rusting
The PO did some rust repair which is not high quality (booger welds and patches)
Still needed is some rust repair to the rear corners and the side panels on the bed are wavy and some have rust holes that were just sprayed over.
The front passenger side was hit and pulled out so it's crinkly down by the nose.
ENGINE
1915 with a weber 183 cam and 41 heads and DPR counter-weighted crank. I'm guessing it has less than 5k miles on it.
The truck is fully functional as is and great for using as a truck. You can roll to your local hardware store/ lumbar yard and throw things in the back without worrying. The only reason I'm selling is I have my eye on a window bus for the family. It needs some electrical sorting with the lights. The speedometer seems to have no lighting and one tail light is out. Nothing major and I will try to get to this while I wait for it to sell.
Has a clean California title, egistered and insured currently. If the bus is going out of state, 'm keeping the YOM plates. If it stays in California, he YOM plates go with the sale.
The bus is sold as is where it is with no warranty expressed or implied. I've done my best to describe the condition and provide detailed photos of the truck. Please ask questions before you buy. All I want is a happy buyer. Buyer will be responsible for shipping, ut of course I can help in any way I can.
