1959 Karmann Ghia

For sale is a 1959 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia lowlight that underwent a total restoration. As you can probably tell by now. lowlights have been really hard to find lately. I have owned this one for almost 10 years now and have personally supervised all the restoration work. The body was totally stripped. prepped ( along with some metal work and very little bondo ) and repainted in silver. The original color was Lizard green. The vehicle we started with was complete and most importantly uncut. The floors were patched and undercoated on the top and the bottom. The engine is 1300 cc ( not sure if it is the original ). My understanding when I bought the vehicle was that the only change was a conversion from 6 to 12 volt but then again in the interest of full disclosure I am not 100% sure this is the original engine. Glass is used ( all German with the sekurit logo ) so it has a few scratches here and there. All metal pieces were rechromed. Brand new rewiring and battery. Fuel tank was taken out and cleaned. Steering wheel recasted by Koch's. Brand-new vinyl interior and headliner down to the pull strap on the driver side ( the way they came off the factory ) and a rechromed rearview mirror ( almost impossible to find ). No radio ( you can go classic or modern ). The antenna is brand new and not hooked to anything. All receipts available. If you are looking for a vehicle that will last you for many years this is it. I understand I will not recoup all the money I have spent on this vehicle therefore the reserve price is not outrageous by any means ( please no e-mails asking how much it is. hanks ). HAPPY BIDDING.
