Thanks for buying from us. :)This sale is for a. 1978 Volkswagen Rabbit Diesel~ 1. 5L 4-Cylinder~ 4-Speed Manual Stick Shift~ Odometer reads 64. 43~ New Oil Filter (not installed)~ Robert Bentley VW Rabbit Diesel Repair Manual Included. ~ This is a PROJECT Car. It was starting. didn't stay running and needs work. It was Ziebart Rustproofed back in 1978. but. over the years. nbsp;surface rust has appeared over sections of the car including the doors and hood with more serious rust in the lower panels. wheel wells and rockers. The floors appear to be solid as do the strut towers. but the rust is more serious where the floors meet the rockers. The bodywork is for someone that knows what they're doing. The last few times this car was started. it didn't stay running. It may or may not start now. It's been sitting in the garage since last Summer. Moving it outside soon. I would hate to see it out there for very long. I bought the car to restore. but I won't have the time to devote to it that it deserves. However. as things are repaired or replaced on the car. the price will be increased. If you know VW's. this is the one to have. Rabbit Diesels get 45 miles per gallon in the city and 57 on the highway. The interior is in decent condition. The dashboard has a few cracks on top. but nothing too major. The driver's seat and the rear bench seat are in good condition. but the passenger seat is beat up pretty bad. The door panels look mint. The headliner is firmly attached. Carpet needs replacing. The driver's seat doesn't move back or forward. but I'm 6' tall and was able to get in and sit down without much problem. There's no pressure in the brake lines. No idea why. The clutch appears to be engaging. When I was having the car towed by flatbed. the clutch held the car in place while on a steep angle. before the flatbed deck was leveled off. All the glass and signal marker plastic is intact. The mirrors are good. Just the driver's side window crank is missing the little rotating round piece. but it still opens the window. The tires are newer and have LOTS of tread. The car is missing the gas cap and radio antenna. The chrome bumpers look shiny and have all 4 end caps. Previous owner compression tested one of the cylinders in the normal range. (Unconfirmed)This car will need to be transported. It's not road worthy. Shipping is Buyer's responsibility.
