Mechanically:
This amazing 5 Speed TDI gets 50+ highway mpgs and 45 in the city. Timing belt and the complete suspension has 60k on it. 11mm injection pump with 160k, ew VR6 flywheel, lutch & throw out bearing, R6 transmission (160k) w/TDI 5th gear swap, R6 axles, ew starter, attery and brake booster. Oil changed every 10k w/Castrol Syntec VW 505.01 5w-40 oil, uel filter changed at 20k intervals. When the trans was swapped it was filled with VW synthetic gear oil. Upon the engine swap the coolant was filled with VW coolant along with a thermostat, ew glow plugs, he turbo's variable vanes and intake manifold were cleaned. There are no leaks under this healthy diesel.
Interior :
The air and cabin filter have also been recently changed. It has heated front seats, ower windows, ruise control and the air conditioning is flawless. For safety it comes with automatic stability control, raction control and dual front airbags w/side curtains.
Exterior:
Selling with the car is a set of brand new tires w/16" wheels from a Passat, ut one wheel is missing the center cap. The rear lettering "Jetta" and "TDI" have been removed. The headlight lenses have been upgraded to glass w/a Hella xenon bulb. The paint looks really good and is surprisingly glossy for the age, here is a small spot on the trunk that the clear coat is starting to remove.
History:
Bought the car w/372k 2 years ago for the wife to use for her business. Car came from a couple in Indiana that skimped on every level of maintenance and the engine seized up. I took out the seats and completely cleaned/shampooed the carpet. The engine, uspension, rakes and seats are from a Jetta Wagon that was well maintained and had 120k on it. The differential side bearing went soon after due to water in the transmission. Bought a VR6 trans, hich had approx 160k. Took it apart, wapped the casings (the casings are different due to the TDI having timing marks on the flywheel), eset all the bearing preloads to factory specs and swapped 5th gear from the oil trans. I went with a VR6 transmission because it was the gear ratios were the closest to a TDI because I couldn't get/find a transmission. I can provide all transmission rework documentation w/gear ratios and bearing preloads if needed. We have outgrown our Jetta and have upgraded to a Touareg.
Here's the cons:
-Rear cup holder is loose and is currently in the trunk
-Small dents on the roof around the antenna, n the rear bumper and rear passenger door
-Sometimes the rear driver side door wont open from the outside, eeds a door latch
-Rear driver side seat is loose, he mounts are broken
-Clutch has chatter in neutral, ut thats from the solid state flywheel
-If you upshift to 3rd quickly, t will grind when going into gear
-Needs a parking brake cable, f the temp drops below freezing, he cable freezes
-There is a small tear on the drivers seat on the outer most rib cage support
