Description

Hello and thanks for reading my post!
For sale is Rhiannon, y silver 2002 Golf TDI. I purchased this car about 4 months ago from another owner on TDIClub and have done many upgrades, ost notably to the lighting system. She has been my daily driver, ut I was just offered a work vehicle to drive and, n the interest of saving money, ill be sadly offering her to a new owner.
This car has many modifications, ost of which were done by the previous owner. It is not without it's own unique, harming personality, ut you really cannot beat driving 1150 miles on a single fill-up (more on that later).
Price
$7000 OBO
Mileage
The chassis has about 225k on it, ut with only the slightest bit of rust bubbles on the right front fender, hich I have sprayed and clear coated.
The previous owner told me that the engine was swapped about 20k miles before I received the car. The new motor had about 90k on it. I have driven the car for about 10k miles, uggesting that the engine has about 120k miles on it now. At the point of the swap, he timing belt and water pump were changed, uggesting that they have about 30k miles on them.
---------------------------------------------
Modifications:
Exterior
- 35% window tint all around with lifetime warranty
- Shorty antenna
- Brand new windshield (insurance offered it so I figured why not?)
- Brand new Bosch ICON windshield wipers (front and rear)
- Front grille delete with half-roundel installed and color matched in hood emblem cutout (made room for light bar)
Interior
- Aftermarket arm rest (This was a really awful piece of crap that did not mount well but i fixed that and now it's solid as a rock!)
- Boost and EGR gauges on steering wheel stock (forgot brand)
- Husky floor mats (front and rear)
- OBD2 Bluetooth module for real-time code scanning and clearing on your smartphone
- Broadway 360mm convex rear view mirror
- Brand new shift knob and boot
- Rubberized trunk liner (forgot brand)
Lighting (All installed within the past 2000 miles!)
- Bi-Xenon projector headlights from VX Tuning with dual-orange blinker, orimoto 55w ballasts and 5000k HID bulbs, ustom wired with 3000k fogs in high beam location (euro headlight switch installed)
- Grill-mounted LED light bar with dual fog and driving modes, ustom wired to fog and high beam switches
- "Ocean" tails (red/clear/red) with super bright reverse LEDs
- Clear fender and bumper side markers with super bright LEDs
- Super bright LED license plate bulbs
- Lamin-X headlight covers (uninstalled)
The light bar, ombined with the highs on the bi-xenons, roduce a seriously OBSCENE output that shines far and spreads wide. It is quite literally comparable to daylight visibility. Please be mindful of driving with them in crowded areas, nd leave the switch off when in cities so you don't inadvertently fry an oncoming driver. Suffice to say, ou know it's bright when you can see them wincing at you behind their own high beams.
And before the question is posed, purchased the light bar DESPITE the fact that I know it's considered an "off-road item", ostly because I live in a very rural area where it gets quite dark at night and there are not a lot of people to bother in the first place. I installed the switches and custom wiring so that it is as easy as stock to turn on both the highs and light bar or fogs and light bar at once, ut still give you the functionality to completely disable them as well. The toggle switches are discreetly installed down at the bottom left of the dash below the headlight switch.
Suspension/Wheels/Tires
- Koni Cup Kit (STR.T Dampers and H&R Sport Springs)
- Goodyear Eagle F1 All-Seasons on stock 16" rims
Engine/Transmission
- PD150 intake manifold
- Garrett VNT 17/22 turbo
- Darkside SMIC and custom turbo piping
- KermaTDI Race 520 calibrated injector nozzles
- 12mm injector pump from an automatic tranny TDI (higher flow)
- Frostheater coolant heater
- G60 flywheel/VR6 clutch
- 2.5" SS turbo-back exhaust (forgot brand)
- Air filter, abin filter and fuel filter all changed within 2k miles
- EGR delete
- Cat delete
- Brand new alternator
- Brand new battery
- Brand new power steering lines
- KermaTDI custom ECU tune (Does not throw any codes!)
- GreaseCar full veggie oil kit with co-pilot computer system... includes fuel system modifications to accommodate the auxiliary fuel tank, ounted in the spare tire well. I have not filled this tank with veggie oil or biodiesel before, s I do not have a reliable source from which to do so. I HAVE filled up both tanks with diesel, ielding just over 1150 miles on a single fill-up! That comes to about 45mpg, nd considering that she most likely puts down over 300ft-lb of torque, he has one hell of a split personality! Veggie fuel filter was replaced within the last 2k miles and the fuel lines have been wrapped in foam pipe insulation to keep temps up in the colder weather.
---------------------------------------------
Issues
- Interior lights don't seem to work (I installed a super bright battery-powered LED pod near the original dome light)
- I have been told by my mechanic that the rear shocks are blown (I couldn't even tell in everyday driving)
- The clutch slips sometimes at max boost (around 25lbs), ut otherwise it drives quite nicely and is only noticeable if you are driving very hard and accelerate very suddenly before the car has warmed up for awhile.
---------------------------------------------
This car has been a BLAST to drive and gets such amazing gas mileage that it's really hard to beat. I will be sorry to see her go but know that somebody who understands the value of this car will have an awesome time with her!
I am asking $7000 OBO. Considering what I paid and then added, believe that this price is reasonable. With the previous owner's engine savvy and my obsession with lighting, his car will blow past and outshine most commuter cars on the road today! I have the entire folder of work that has been done to the car since I received it.
Please get in touch soon and come take it for a test drive!
Chris
