I have ownedit since 1995 after purchasing from a close friend. He purchased it from the original owner in the late 1980's. It has never been wrecked or flooded. I replaced the 1.8engine with a 2.0 engine out of a Porsche 914 I had in the late 1990's. Ihad a paint job put on it in the late 1990's, aybe early 2000's. For the time that I owned it has always been garage kept. I showed it at VW shows and various events all over Texas. But for the most part it was a Sunday driver. Times change and now I don't have a garage for it. Nor do I have the time to give it the attention it needs. I can't bear to watch it sit outside and suffer through another Texas summer. Two is already too many. This is where one lucky bastard will come in. If you have the time and intent to bring it back to where it once was then you're my hero. I have owned this bus longer than I have had girlfriends, ives, ouses, arriages, riends, obs. Few constants in my life: death, axes, un will rise in the east, y bus. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. If by chance you're the lucky bastard mentioned above and are leaving Texas with was once my bus. Pleasedo NOT look in rear view mirrorbecause youWILLsee grown man cry.
