Condition:
  • Paint and body: one good ding in the left side of the hood, ue to a falling branch; minor scratches/dings, o rust; front headlight was backed into once by another driver and professionally repaired.
  • Frame: unaltered
  • Windshield glass, ights, enses: Windshield ~2 years old; one headlamp lense is older/discolored (see above).
  • Wheels: Minor scratches or scrapes.
  • Upholstery and carpet: Faded and needs a good cleaning, s we this was our family and pet car. Recently steam-cleaned, acuumed.
  • Electronics (windows, ocks, adio, AV, tc...): Front door locks do not respond to remote; otherwise, ll electronics are functional
  • Engine/transmission: Original clutch, iming belt replaced ~80k, ll major maintenance intervals done, ncluding 100k; no oil/fluid leaks.
  • Steering/suspension: Usual wear, ccasional squeaks but not a concern at last major service (100k)
  • AC/heater: Fully functional; front heated seats work perfectly.
  • Brakes: No known issues; pads replaced at about 80k, ll highway miles since then.
  • Tires: They still look good but were installed 70k miles ago; since then, 5% highway driving so wear is surprisingly minimal. Still, ’d recommend replacing them in the next 20k miles, iven their age.
  • Title: clean title
  • Maintenance: VW-certified mechnanics performed all major/minor service at recommended intervals
  • Maintenanceecords: An estimated 95% of maintenance records retained/available, ncluding for major service intervals and timing-belt replacement
  • No history of smoking inside vehicle
Other issues:
  • Front auto-door locks rarely work now. Dealer might fix, ue to acknowledged VW issue.
  • Broken rear seat: One of the rear seats is broken and needs a bolt to retain it in place; probably a $5 bolt needed
  • Missing Antenna: Second one broke off due to surfboards. Can buy them online or autoshop for nothing.
  • Moon-roof seal: There is evidence of water intrusion, ossibly due to a worn moonroof seal. Haven’t been able to locate it, n part because it isn’t bad. But it really should be replaced. Perhaps drains are clogged.
  • Dog/Cat-mobile: Note that our dogs and cats were in the car, o those with strong pet allergies should pass. All carpeting has been steam-cleaned, acuumed, nd sterilized, ut some fur remains.
