Description

1995 VW Eurovan Campmobile

1995 VW EuroVan Camper

Winnebago Conversion

in Memphis,Tennessee

I am proud to offer the Ebay community exclusively this very nice 1999 Volkswagen Eurovan Camper! This will be my 515th vehicle listed and sold here on Ebay Motors since 1998. What began as an experiment in 1998 has now become a full time career!

You are looking at a two owner 1995 VW bus that has always been very well cared for.

I am in the business of buying and selling older German cars here on Ebay. I have been buying and selling older Mercedes-Benz cars for years, nd from time to time, hen I am luck, also purchase VW Westfalia Campers.

A few weeks ag, I purchased this EuroVan Camper from an older gentleman when he traded it in on a new vehicle. He provided me with a log book of 100 repairs and notations, e was quite methodical about having the vehicle continually serviced.

The Eurovan has all available options from new. MSRP was $59,000 for this model when new, nd it has the same equipment and features found on the last 2003 models sold in the US.

I have been a fanatical VW bus enthusiast all of my life. I learned how to drive at age 13 in a bone white 1971 Westfalia that I dragged out of an older divorced woman's front yard for $50.00 . The bus had no gearshif, o I wedged a screw driver in the floor and learned to shift with my right foot . I was in love!

Since then, have probably bought and sold over thirty type II', buses, nd Vanagons I have had the entire range of conditions, rom a 30k mile 71' from the original owne, to a rusted out hull given to me from a guy from Iowa after it died on the side of the road.

I still have a 1976 Orange Westfalia Kiombi, a 1977 Sage green Westfalia Kiombi, nd a restored 1971 Westfalia Kiombi. I'm stubborn and not selling them!

I full well realize that a Winnebago isn't a Westfalia...

And I suppose that as I have grown older, I am beginning to realize that I am somewhat hesitant to change. I am stubborn, ut it takes me a while to adapt to change...

S, t took a while for the Winnebago to sink under my skin. I have three Westfalia vans that I dearly love, nd the Winnebago was a change, ut after driving it for a few days, am in love with it. This is a wonderful progression from the Vanagon. In my opinion it is far more practica, nd seems to be much more reliable. It's a shame that these aren't produced anymore.

After spending some time with the Eurovan Camper (called the California Freestyle in Germany), reached the conclusion that Winnebago had done a fine job with this camper. The 1995 models were the first campers after a four year absence in the US market.

Daimler-Benz had purchased Westfalia Werke GB, nd they were focusing on the Marco-polo and Sprinter markets and did not allow Westfalia to convert VW vans for the US markets (they did allow it for Canadian markets), o the torch was passed to Winnebago for the USA.

VW sent partially completed Eurovans from Germany to Idaho for completion at the Winnebago facility there.

I operate my Ebaymotors.com business much like that of a mail order business. I send my cars all over the country. I deal only with 2 shippers and can efficiently send your vehicle ANYWHERE to you at minimal cost and hassle. My customers enjoy the convenience of buying from me. When you get your vehicle, t is ready to go. I change the oil and check all fluids before it leaves my office. You will receive a full tank of fuel and a temporary operation permit good for 30 days.

The interior is very clean. The prior owner was a non-smoker and the van appears to have never been smoked in. All contact surfaces are clean!

The EuroVan is equipped with daytime running lights, nd anti-lock brakes. This Eurovan is also equipped with Air conditioning, Central heating system (for camping), utomatic transmission with cruise control, ower windows, ower locks, nd a host of other features that I will try to illustrate below-

Simple climate controls work well. The vehicle has front and rear heat, nd A/C. I have tested both and the heat and air conditioning work quite well. A/C is the newer R134A refrigerant. The stock sound system was a Panasonic unit and has been replaced with a Sony CD unit.

Both front seats swivel 360 degrees.

Here are two of the three tables that come with the Eurovan.

Here is the interior with the center table removed.

Much like that of a swiss-army knife, he interior holds many interesting features!

The Norcold refrigerator is a tri-power unit , t can be powered by 12 volt, 10 volt, r by propane. It doesn't appear to have seen much use. Clean!

The stove top is a two burner unit, perated on propane, nd the sink is electric.

The camping equipment is clean. The original plastic covering is still on the side panel, ooks like it got hot once. It will peel off.

The van holds 12 gallons of clean wate, and eight gallons of "grey" water. Dishwater in this case.

This is the thermostat control for the central heating system. This is a furnace to be used while camping.

Rear hatch has plenty of storage, ncluding a closet with hanging rod, nd water station for rinsing off. All four factory workshop manuals are included with the bus and will go to its next owner.

All accessories have their own breaker panel.

The closet, s large, hough I'm not the greatest photographer.

Below is one of the three tables included with the Eurovan.

Safety in mind.

The rear bench seat slides forward, nd also lays flat and makes a fine double bed!

All of the windows in the Eurovan are equipped with privacy blinds, r curtains.

As Martha, n Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? liked to say, quot; It's right at the meat of things".

Hopefully, ne the big reasons you are looking at this van, s the pop-top.

Just like all of its predecessors, his Eurovan has a full bed upstairs in the tent.

What a serene escape hatch! Everyone needs a pop-top to escape to from time to time!

Tent appears to have seen very little use. The canvas is in great shape with no defects noted. The pop top seals are still soft and feel great! The screens are still nice too!

I zipped all of the screens down, ut they have privacy flaps if needed!

Upstairs sleeps two adults comfortably. It was hard to photograph.

In homage to the old Vanagon Wesfalia, hat's a skylight!

Though hard to tell, he bug screen is still in place. This is a view from the pop-top bed.

Here's a view of the cab when looking down from the pop-top bed.

This is an absolutely fun van to drive. I think the prior owner used it mostly to commut, nd I can fully understand why.

The bus has a nice feel to it, nd is quite manageable around town. The engine has good power and acceleration, nd the van is comfortable to steer and it actually handles well. It also gets reasonable gas mileage (around 18 mpg), mpressive for a 5,100 lb vehicle.

I have been driving this van around for the last few weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Everything appears to work exactly as it should, he cruise control works, he power windows, etc. The van was serviced by the local VW dealer regularly, nd the original owner kept the records. The van is quite clean. The interior and body are overall quite nice for a fifteen year old vehicle. I have had the vehicle detailed and professionally touched-up where needed.

If you have any questions, am happy to answer them directly by telephone.

I have the original Winnebago manual, nd the VW EuroVan manuals-

History

This is a three owner vehicle. The third owner acquired this van in Denver Colorado from JDB imports inc on February 22,2008. He paid $29,000 for it. The vehicle had 162,800 miles at the time of purchase.

Upon purchase he began to undertake the maintence like it was his full time job.

As I depicted in this auction with some sample photos of his log book, e basically replaced or repaired every aspect of the van. In the last 30k miles, ll seals, oses, all joints, askets, ulbs etc...have been replaced.

All documentation shall accompany the Eurovan to its new owner.

Prior owner was an elderly gentleman who kept very methodical notes. Included with the van is a very notated history of everything that the prior owner observed or had completed. It's almost like a diary for the van. Below are a few samples of pages, mind you there are approximately 60 pages of notes. Highlights- All fluids, elts, oses replaced. Transmission rebuilt at 184,932 miles. Timing belt and water pump at 162,438, ll other belts at same time. All oil gaskets, v joint axles, tc.

If a buyer is really curious I'd be happy to go over this with a perspective buyer over the telephone 901-870-3347 is my cell phone.

Original engine runs great and exhibits perfect manners. I have been driving this for the last few weeks and have been thoroughly impressed!

Though hard to make out, iming belt was replaced at 162,368 miles. As were all the other belts and a very extensive service was untertaken. I have the log book to back this up.

Just like the label says- Meets California Emissions requirements!

Here is the vin for anyone who should need it. Here is a link to the carfax report. Vehicle is accident free.

This is the Data sheet from Winnebago.
All four tires appear to have 70% or better tread life remaining.

Pricing-

Late model EuroVan Campers in good condition are scarce. This could be because @ $52-$61,000 when new, ot many were sold new here in the US to begin with.

I have watched a few 1995 models here on Ebay sell in the mid twenties this Summer. There are a few listed on Gowesty's sold page in the $40's to $54k (see it here ). Their justification of higher selling prices is that they "restore" their vans.. Well, ere's one that has always been properly maintained! It doesn't need restoration.

I believe the value of my EuroVan to be approximately $26,900 based upon selling prices that I have seen recently here on ebay and elsewhere.

I am offering the EuroVan without reserve price. Please bid whatever you feel is a fair price to pay.

Bidding shall start @ $19.95
