If you've been dreaming about owning a vintage VW Super Beetle, our dream has come true--just in time for summer drives. I've owned this '73 Karmann convertible since 2000 and had it professionally maintained and garaged the whole time. I'm simply not using it enough to justify my keeping it.
A Minnesota car since its arrival from Germany, t drives just as a vintage Bug should--that is to say, ith more of a growl than a purr. The body is in good-to-great shape, few dings here and there. It's been professionally repainted since I've owned it, he tires are less than 5 years old, nd I've had my VW mechanic work on any trouble I've encountered: nothing unexpected, ust periodic maintenance and replacements. If you're handy, ou can do fix things yourself. I'm not, o I have a local expert to keep it shipshape.
Be advised: this car is 43 years old. It thrives on trips around the lakes, ruising to DQ or Izzy's, nd stints in parades and at vintage VW rallies. Yes, t does make it to 50 mph. And, es, here are quirks: for instance, have no idea about its actual mileage because the odometer has never worked, nd I've never cared. I've driven it no more than 300 miles each summer, o I've put on less than 5,000 miles total. I'm happy to disclose other "issues"; my price has been calibrated accordingly.
Serious offers, lease: I'm happy to show it only if you're truly interested in buying, ot browsing. This is my baby, nd it's hard to let it go. But I'm hoping someone--like you--will love it as much as I have.
