My new job provides a company car, so what has been probably the overall best all-around car I’ve ever owned is now for sale.
Based on the Passat platform, the CC debuted in 2009 – this same design is available at your VW dealer today with a base sticker of $35K. The only changes have been cosmetic, with the switch to LED lights on the new in 2013 update. The interior remains pretty much the same, with the exception of an attempt to add a center rear seat replacing the unique rear buckets – not an improvement in my opinion. No manual option anymore, either!
The car you see here had one local previous owner. I have the original paperwork from the selling dealer, including quite a bit of the service history. The only service records missing are since I’ve owned it (with 27k miles) are for oil changes every 5k miles with the recommended synthetic oil. I prefer to do oil changes myself.
Here are answers to some typical questions, but please ask anything you want to know:
- No accident history or bodywork whatsoever
- The paint is somewhat pearlescent, and looks gray to many people in certain light, but it is most definitely Mocha colored. The condition of the paint is amazing for anything short of a new car.
- Tires are Nexen – never heard of them until I bought the car with these newly installed. They are truly amazing in overall performance. There is about half the useful tread left on all 4.
- The wheels have minor curb rash but nothing serious. I wax the wheels with the car and keep the brake dust cleaned off and they shine great.
- Body damage – minor clear coat damage around the license plate opening, 2 small scratches on top of rear bumper from trunk stupidity. Both of these were there when I bought it. The front plastic is rock chipped typical of a 50k mile car, but very little on the hood. There’s a slight door ding on the rear driver side wheel arch – paint is still intact
- No maintenance has been missed or is yet due.
- No mechanical issues – this car runs strong and is a hoot to drive.
- The engine compartment and trunk (with rear seat pass-through) are immaculate.
- No leaks – nothing escapes that’s supposed to be contained, and nothing comes inside you don’t want (like water!)
- Clutch and brakes are good
- Interior seats, dash, carpets, steering wheel and shift knob all in excellent condition
Features on the car:
- Auto headlamps with variable delay (upgraded to Silverstar Ultra)
- Puddle lights and signals on outside mirrors
- Factory optional fog lamps
- Keyless entry and operation – push the fob into the dash
- Front seats are both 3-way heated and full power
- Touch screen audio with satellite radio, 6-disc CD and SD card slot. Bluetooth connectivity. This is one of the better factory base systems I’ve heard.
- Tilt/telescopic steering wheel with audio and on board computer controls
- Auto-dimming rearview mirror
- Center console with audio jack, 2 12V sockets, cup holders and cubbies, adjustable armresRain-sensing automatic wipers – actually works pretty well!
- Three unique closed dash storage bins – like secret compartments
- Rear seat A/C vents, center pass-through to trunk, armrest, cup holders and storage cubbies
- The interiors of the CC Sports are something VW calls V-tex leatherette – in other words, it looks and feels like perforated leather. The stitching is real. I like it, but know that it isn’t really leather
- Electric parking brake and “auto hold” feature. It basically holds the brakes after you stop until you start moving the car. Great for stop and go traffic in a manual car like this
