Description

I have for sale my 2002 VW New Beetle 2.0 GLSin Metal blue-graymetallic
In my opinion the best color made for this car.

I bought this car second hand in 2006 with 36K miles on it and have driven it since. I drove it nearly 120K miles and it now has 155K miles on it. The car was meticulously maintained. It has been garaged since I bought it.
Oil and filter changes every 5K miles and if ever something went wrong I either fixed it myself (fully qualified) or had it repaired by the dealer. The car runs excellent. It just had a timing belt replaced, complete tune up, new water pump, thermostat, new wires, spark plugs, distributor cap, new belts and a host of other regular maintenance items done within the past 60 days.
Now, I have been ripped off by car dealers before and one thing I don't like is when they give you a list of glorious compliments without putting down the full condition of the car. As the owner for over 10 years, this is everything I know about this car;
Positive:
1) It runs now as good as it ever did.2) The brake pads and rotors are approx 20K old in the front and approx. 15K in the back3) All 4 struts were replaced within the past 30K miles4) As mentioned, the entire top end of the motor was serviced less than 2 months ago5) The emergency Brake cable was replaced approx a year ago ($400+)6) The car burns maybe one quart every couple of months if that. I maybe add one extra quart between oil changes.7) Battery was replaced and electrical system was fully checked within past 24 months

Negative:
1) Approx 4 months ago the A/C stopped blowing cold air.2) The driver side door panel handle broke and has been glued to fix. (see photo) If you are very particular you can replace the entire panel for $300 new.3) Recently, someone backed into me when it was parked. That is the damage in the front illustrated by the photos4) There is a small amount of surface rust bubbling on each rocker panel where the fenders meet the rockers.
Title Report:Odometer; At 10,800 miles the original owner had the Odometer replaced. When VW replaces an odometer it starts at 0. They then put an "official" sticker on the drivers side door indicating that the odometer was replaced and that the mileage was (in this case) 10,800 miles. I have added that number to the 144K odometer reading in the photos which is where I come up with the 155K
Frame damage; This was on the title when i bought the car at 36K miles in 2006. The dealer got it from auction and had no idea why it was listed that way. I had the entire frame checked back in 2006 and it certified as perfect. I have all of the paperwork to verify this. The interesting thing is it shows no accidents but frame damage. Go figure?? I have driven the car for 120K miles since then.
Let me know if you would like a picture of the VW Odometer sticker and a copy of the frame report and title report from 2006 showing the same info.
Beyond what I have written above, the car is sold As-Is.Remember ...this car has 155K miles on it and is selling for under $3,000.
Bottom line, this is an awesome car for what I am asking. It is still very attractive and cool for someone who appreciates this look. It has many safety features including Driver and Passenger Side AND Front airbags and it is very fun to drive
Reason for selling;My son is going to College. he just bought a new Jeep. We have to sell one of our vehicles.
