Very clean TDI diesel. Here are the issues:
1. I had planned to drive this car for 500,000 miles, however, the main wiring harness prevented that from happening! This car was running great until my fan blade cut a main wiring harness wire bundle. There was so much wire damage that I decided t replace the entire main and glow plug wiring harness's. That's when the electrical "ghost's" started to appear - instrument cluster not functioning (car still starts and runs), limp mode, etc. A local auto electrician quoted me 6-8 hours to test all (40)+ main wiring harness connections, including the grounds. At an estimated $1,000.00 labor cost, I decided not to continue with keeping the car. If you know anything about auto electrics you can probably solve the issues yourself. Like I said, the car ran perfectly before the cutting of the main harness wire bundle.

Car stats:
- I am the second owner (bought in 2002).
- 345,900 miles on the odometer. The car looks and drives like it only has 150,000 miles on it.
- 117,000 miles on the motor (I replaced it with a used 1Z motor from Germany in 2010 for $2,400.00).
- 160,000 miles on the manual transmission (I replaced it at the same time as the 1Z motor). The transmission currently has 160,000 miles on it. It shifts fine.
- No dents other than a minor dent by the passenger headlight.
- AC blows cold.
- Timing belt done at 327,800 miles (18,100 miles on new belt).
- Always used Shell Rotella Synthetic motor oil every 6,000 miles or so.
- Manual windows.
- Several spare keys.
- All fluids and filters recently replaced (motor oil, powers steering, transmission, brake, and windshield recently changed).
- Several paint scratches and nicks that would be normal for a car that is 19 years old.
- Small engine oil leak.
- Virtually new Goodyear Traction TA tires (worth at least $200.00).
- Car has been maintained extremely well. I have maintenance records all the way back to 5,112 miles (December 1, 1997).
- Nice aluminum wheels.
- Rear disk brakes in rear (converted from drums).
- Sony XPlod speakers front and rear.
- Kenwood CD/Ipod-ready stereo.
- Leather steering wheel.
- Rear spoiler.
- Koni shocks and struts.
- Rear stabilizer bar.
- WVO (Waste Vegetable Oil) "Greasecar" kit - tanks, valves, switches, gauges, etc. I discontinued the WVO kit last year when diesel became cheap again. If you hook up the kit (I have the instructions) it can run on free fuel again.
- Several spare parts that I will give you such as fenders, bumpers, trim, hardware, etc.
- Black "smoked" tail lights.
Fix the electrical issue and you have a nice TDI diesel that does not need to be smogged in California!
