With a heavy heart we have decided to sell "Clyde". He has been a great camper not just transportation but a fun little weekend camper. Only reason we are selling is due to the fact that we have 2 teenage boys and an 8 year old girl and camping is a little crowded now. He is a 1972 Westfalia that has a recent rebuild of a 2 liter engine (approximately 300 miles ago). He has plenty of get up and go to pull our Ozark mountains. The Good: has newly rebuilt upgraded 2 liter engine (currently less than 300 miles)brand new canvas popup tent installednew roof cotcurrently licensedcheck engine lights workclear title in handnew cdplayerall electrical seems to workThe Bad:Typical VW body rust/issues (rust on outside wheel wells)needs new batterywhen replacing the engine. didn't reconnect the heater/vent cablespossibly needs heat exchangersweird brake fluid leak at reservoir. (hose doesn't seal to male end of reservoir?)seats need recoveredslight front end damage from a spare tire This also has the original gas heater under the back seat. I honestly never tested it (heard too many horror stories). Also has the child's cot (does have a small tear) and rear hatch mosquito net. Now. for the exciting part: I also have 2 other campers that I will throw in. Both of them are 71 models. The red one actually has a pretty decent body (California car) and the thought was to do a ground up resto on it. There are lots of good parts on the 2 extras. Neither one has an engine. but they each have their transaxles. I do not have titles to either of the the spares. I will try and provide honest pics so you can get a good feel for him. Don't let the cosmetic issues scare you off. I personally wouldn't hesitate to get in him and drive anywhere. I think anybody could as long as they know a little about VWs. He has always been garaged since I have had him (approximately 5 years). I will hold him for 2 weeks after the final sale. perhaps longer if prior arrangements are made. I could possibly help in delivery for an extra fee of gas money etc. . depends on where. $250 deposit required with in 3 days and final payment within 5 days. Thanks for looking. I know that the new owner will love Clyde as much as my family has. On Mar-17-15 at 09:20:49 PDT. seller added the following information:Note: because of the cold weather he has been sitting happily in the garage. Now that the weather is warming up. I will be driving him more. Also. on that note. I am getting him a new battery as well. Buyer is responsible for pickup/delivery but as mentioned could possibly help in delivery for a fee. Since the rebuild. the rings have not set completely yet (not enough miles on them) so there is the typical leaking engine. Don't worry. I am NOT running synthetic oil in it. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. I will answer them as honestly as I can.
