My father. who retired to Florida. asked me to help sell his small collection of classic cars. This is his STUNNING 1966 VOLVO 123 GT TRIBUTE! THIS WAS BUILT ON AN ORIGINAL VOLVO 122 S CANADIAN VOLVO (assembled in Halifax. NS). All parts are original VOLVO 123 GTThe 123 GT is based on the 122S. but upgraded with the most powerful available Volvo engine. the B18B from the P1800S with 115 bhp. equipped with twin SU carburettors and open filters. giving the car a characteristic and sporty intake sound. It was also fitted with the mandatory extras like high power beams. rev-counter. GT steering wheel. a. s. o. The gearbox got an electrical operated overdrive. The car was pretty fast and cruises easily 140 km/h on the highway. The majority of the 123 GT were manufactured at the Torslanda plant near Gothemburg. Sweden. but a few were also built in Halifax. Nova Scotia. Canada. Volvo did not keep track of the exact production figures. but it is estimated that a total of around 1. 00 were built.
