MotoeXotica is pleased to announce our latest addition a 2009 Harley Davison Cross Bones softtail. Harley Davison intended this motorcycle to have all the styling cues of a retro “bobber” and “springer” but with the reliability and comfort of their modern models. Typically a “bobber” is known as a motorcycle from the 40’s and 50’ that has the front fender removed and any superfluous parts removed to save weight and increase performance. While a “springer” was an early Harley suspension design which did not use fork tubes rather it had externally mounted springs usually set up in a triple tree design.

This Cross Bones Harley we are selling for a gentleman who has been riding motorcycles most of his life and is a true enthusiast is in excellent condition. Painted in a combination of gloss black matte black and pin striping with red orange and yellow; this bike really does look right out of the 50’s. That doesn’t mean the paint is in 50’s condition it’s quite the opposite; the paint is in great condition with only very minor imperfections from normal road use. Signature to the Cross Bones model are pinstriped labels and accents which are in equally good condition. Even Harley’s V-Twin engine is painted in a matte black as well as the accessories for the engine. Shorty ape-hanger handlebars are stock and feature all the standard hand controls. Mirroring the “bobber” style Harley cut the front fender back as much as possible without removing it completely preventing both the rider and engine from getting hit by debris or water. The adjustable coil spring seat is in great condition and keeps with the “bobber” look without sacrificing the comfort of a modern seat. Dual leather Harley Davison saddlebags sit on both sides of the soft tail rear-end.

Harley’s twin-cam 96B V-Twin engine powers this motorcycle! This engine is extremely smooth and powerful; with a displacement of 1584cc and twin camshafts it is ideal for this motorcycle. Electronic sequential port fuel injection delivers fuel to the cylinders and gets an estimated 54mpg on the highway. Mated with the engine is Harley’s 6-speed manual transmission which shifts very well and also features cruise control too. Keeping very true to the “springer” design the front forks have a “springer” suspension; which features a tri-tree spring design. From the front view this motorcycle really does trick the eye on the year it was built. Straight shot exhaust with chrome mufflers stick to the retro look but meets modern emission standards. Since this Harley is a softtail or known as a bobtail features a swing-arm that is controlled by a hidden single coil-over shock that produces excellent ride quality. Finishing off the softtail is a big 200mm rear tire with gloss black laced steel wheels.
