1973 BMW r75/5 SWB

Putting my /5 up for sale. It is a great bike. Runs just like a sewing machine. Doesn't leak any oil. Starts right up. 30. 00 miles from new. I have enjoyed this bike for a couple of years but have my eye on something else so it is time to sell. A lot of work and $ has gone into this bike to make it a great running. reliable bike. I have tried to keep the appearance tasteful and period correct. To that end. the bike still wears it's original paint (Green Metallic) from the factory. and tho there is a little crazing on the tank on top and a few chips of paint gone from the fenders. etc. The bike and paint still look amazing. And they are only original once. I will try to list everything that has been done to the bike since I purchased it. but will probably miss a few things. All work was done by a 30+ year BMW airhead mechanic . I am not looking to get out of it what I have in it but just a reasonable figure as these bikes. esp. when in their original guise and well maintained bring better money. Of course. the bike is a matching numbers bike ( engine and frame. )Before I bought the bike. it had been owned for a time by a member of the Black Keys musical group. After purchasing. I had a very experienced BMW airhead mechanic go over it from top to bottom to make sure the bike was correct from a mechanical. electrical point of view. as well as aesthetically correct So here is what has been done since my ownership of 5K miles and 2 years ago: Speedo/ tach rebuild by N. Hollywood Speedometer( Original mileage not changed) Oil/filter changed every 1500 miles Front and rear wheels trued and rebuilt by Woody's Wheelworks. Stainless spokes installed. Hubs media blasted and then clearcoated. Carbs completely rebuilt Complete tune up New throttle. choke. speedo. and clutch cables installed New pushrod tube seals installed New seat foam and cover installed. Looks perfectly original. New air cleaner New steering head bearings installed Remove and replace bevel drive Replace crown seal + gasket New H4 headlight installed New center stand springs New oem hand grips new oem foot rubber All wiring check and repaired if needed New front brake switch Front forks refreshed New OEM like shocks from Bob's BMW New exhaust mufflers New Albert (not Bubb. etc. . but Albert) headlight mirrors New chrome headlight ring New 13 rib fork gaiters New Brown side stand New Pilot Active tires (2000) miles on them New spark plug wire set from EME New ignition coils from EME Installed new neutral switch Installed new Alpha digital electronic ignitionAs you can see. it also comes with a solo seat and rack. Comes with the original tool kit. obligatory rag and original owner's manual.
