This is a totally un-restored very low mileage example of a classic BMW airhead. I am the second registered owner of this motorcycle having owned it for the past 11 years. I purchased the machine from the second owner that had owned the MC for only several months after purchasing the bike from a BMW motorcycle dealer (Irv Seever BMW of Southern California) that had consigned the bike. The motorcycle had approximately 1800 original miles at the time I took possession. The motorcycle developed valve recession. which is common for this vintage. at about 5K miles. Big Twin BMW of Boise. ID. replaced all valves and valve guides Continental tires are new condition. As the photos show. fairing lowers have been removed but are included in the sale. The seat is a replica seat by Sargent Cycle Products. The original 32/11 ratio final drive has been replaced with a 34/11 unit obtained from a wrecked R90 that had approximately 20K miles at time of accident. final drive has new oil seals. This modification has resulted in a motorcycle that is much easier and pleasurable to operate especially with a passenger on board. The original heavy and clunky parcel compartments attached to the inside of the fairing have been replaced with lighter and more attractive Bell bicycle soft storage packs. The battery is a virtually new Yuasa 53030 32 AH wet cell. The wheels are powder coated. Also included in sale is an exhaust nut wrench. new Yuasa 53030 battery never filled. Haynes shop manual. and original tool kit. I do not have an owners manual but one can be obtained. To my knowledge this motorcycle is in excellent condition both esthetically and mechanically and is ready to ride anywhere. I am selling this motorcycle because I am 71 years of age and no longer have an interest in riding or owning motorcycles. It should also be noted that this motorcycle is kept in a heated garage and has never been ridden in any kind of adverse weather conditions. Buyer is responsible for shipping cost.
