This is my 2004 BMW 1200CL the full dress touring version of the original 1200C. 2004 was the last year for the 1200C line. The final year of production is said to include dual ignition integral ABS and an improved transmission. This one also has a working factory radio CD player heated grips even cruise control.
I am the second owner. I purchased the bike from our local BMW dealer where it was sold and serviced since new. The warranty book includes stamps and receipts through its 24000 mile service. The records include a documented BMW frame replacement under warranty in 2011 for "bending at the side stand" The frame was replaced by BMW with a "factory BMW frame having a new reinforced side stand mount" I have the documentation for this. It also had its final drive resealed and a new clutch slave cylinder in 2011. Tires were done at 23K.
I bought this bike to replace my original R1200C which I also loved. Both have a low 29 inch seat height but the CL (my first touring bike) is a bit heavy for my kind of around town type driving. I'm not really a tourer guy. I'd like to swap it out for something a bit lighter i.e. not a tourer. I will consider trades up or down maybe for a Montauk Rockster R9-T a late Guzzi Californian or Griso. a Triumph T-100SE or some other European standard or vintage bike heck maybe even an old Paso or an old Shovelhead. When in doubt just ask. Otherwise its selling here with no reserve. Thank you.
