Black BMW R60/2

This BMW R60/2 is in excellent shape. Prior to my buying the bike a few years back on eBay, he previous owner had the engine and transmission serviced professionally by Blue Moon Cycle, ench Mark Works, nd Long's Custom Mechanical Services. He had stated that it had a bent valve, nd the slingers needed to be gone through anyway, o if you're going to have it broken down might as well go through everything Paperwork for this service work is included with sale, total of 30 pages of it, otaling around $5000. He also went through the rest of the drive line and mechanics himself, epairing what needed it and servicing the rest. He took off all the body work and had them painted professionally. The only thing that wasn't really touched was the frame, hich currently still has the original paint and patina. He also replaced one carb with a used one, f I remember correctly due to it being cracked. It's a matched set still, o he did his homework. On top of that he added a period correct side stand, ut to be honest I rarely use it because it seems like the bike would tip too easily when on it. This is simply a great looking and great running motorcycle, hat with standard maintenance will give you joy for years to come. The only reason I'm selling it is because I need the money for some house renovations...and to prevent myself from buying a sidecar for it so my dog can ride with me!

I'm not even sure the previous owner had ridden it much after the rebuild, ecause I found some minor issues that I think would have been picked up pretty quickly by anyone that had rode it a bit. The big issue was it wasn't running well, ecause the needles were worn. I re-jetted and synced the carbs, hich was a pretty simple fix. I also went through and re-torqued the heads, leaned up and timed the ignition, nd gapped and cleaned the plugs. I changed all the fluids, s I do on any vehicle I purchase. Basically I performed all the standard routine maintenance one of these old cycles requires. After all that it was a completely different animal. As an example, t would take up to half a dozen kicks to get her going before, nd now she starts on the first kick even after sitting a few weeks.

There really wasn't much left for me to add to the cycle when I acquired it. The only items I've added were an aftermarket passenger seat to the rear rack, nd a grab bar behind the main seat. The second seat isn't standard, ormally you'd find a large bread loaf of a seat that replaces the rack all together or a second tractor seat, ut I liked neither of these and think this option looks much better and unobtrusive on the bike. On the grab bar I've added two padlocks to serve as helmet locks. It works pretty well, lthough the padlocks don't come with the bike. What it does come with is any spare parts I have lying around, ostly the carb bits and bobs from rejetting and I think I might have another handlebar set from one I owned previously. There's also a large licence plate holder kicking around somewhere that I didn't like on it so I changed it. I have the original and pretty beat up owners manual, s well as two shop manuals. Lastly I have a spare ignition "key" that fits on a key ring, nd it actually came with the key that fits the triple tree lock and tool box. Sadly, here are no tools. The only other thing I'm aware of that is missing is the tire pump, hich is about as rare to find still in place as the tools.

Direct pick up would be best, specially if you've never owned one before, o that I can show you how everything works. Cost for shipping and carrier selection is the buyer's responsibility, ut I help get it to a local pick up for shipment within reason. Of course you could always fly out and just ride it home!
