1988 BMW R100RS "Krauser Special", 4,456 miles, argent seat, ustom extras This is aunique and very specialairhead BMW in spectacular mechanical and cosmetic shape. Listing for a (retired senior) friend of mine who is not an Ebayer. Cleartitle in hand (MI). This bike always draws a crowd atBMW rallies. __________________________________________________________________ Features 1988 R100RS (single sided swingarm), ought in 1999 with only 25k miles 44,456 miles, orgeous black paint with deep clear coat and blue pinstriping Extremely rare Krauser fairing, nly 30 of these were imported to the US in the early 80s Fairing was found NOS in Chicago and weighs half what a stock RS fairing weighs (16 vs 33 lbs) Hepco Becker "Krauser-style" saddlebags withlocks keyed to the ignition key Reynolds bag mounts and rear rack Has the famous "Farley" sidestand, ike a Brown only better Snowflake wheels have been trued, hod with Bridgestone Battlax tires Euroswitch for headlights, gnition moved to headlight bucket! Stock seat was redone by Sargent with the BMW Motorsports logo Custom EPCO header and Supertrapp pipe for a nice burble Rick Jones Motorrad Electric coils OEM tool kit included One folding key and asecond straight key _______________________________________ Mechanical
Starts easily and idles well Engine all stock with 32mm carbs Pleasing exhaust note withSupertrapp Rides well, verything works as it should, trong braking with dual front disks Bridge Battlax tiresa few years old and have over 50% tread Sealed battery less than two years old, lways on a tenderRear end also re-shimmed in 2013 Bike exhaustively serviced in August of 2014, ncluding: Heads retorqued, ew plugs, ir filter, iming checked, hecked torque all frame bolts, ubed swing arm bearings, ebuilt carbs, djusted all cables, wapped brake fluid,fork oil, ranny oil, inal drive oil, ngine oil and filter, ubed transmission and rear splines, heck steering head bearings, uel taps replaced, arb synch Oil change recently and valves checked: valves haven't moved in 10,000 miles In general,all recommended maintenance done with military precision! (see included checklist from the 2014 service) ______________________________________ Cosmetic condition
Condition is fantastic, well-cared for garage kept bike witha senior (and meticulous) owner. Hard to finedany noteworthy flaws,did find one tiny chip on the right side of tank (shown in pic) Miles are on-road touring miles. Paint is glossy. Seldom ridden in the rain (no road grime). Lower nose of fairing painted in stone guard to limit chipping. Never downand never even tipped over. Flawless seat, ot amark on rims. ______________________________________________________________
