Description

This is a no reserve price listing so the high bid wins it!
2001 BMW R 1150 GS with 43,000 miles on it (and counting). If you're in the market for BMW GS, his bike is the one you want. This years features are exactly what you'd want and not many GS bikes came like this.
Non-Sevo ABS brakes (the ones that don't have problems)
It's been perfectly maintained mechanically. Within the last 500 miles, t's has all the fluids changed (with premium synthetics as it's had for it's whole life). It leaks no oil or other fluids.
Premium Galfer stainless steel brake lines ($200) installed within the last 500 miles as well has full brake system flush and fluid change. Speed bleeders also installed. The hydraulic clutch was also flushed and fluid changed.
It's had it's full 42k service.
I also performed the clutch spline lube which is recommended at approximately 40k miles and unlike some, his bike has had no spline wear which indicates that it was perfectly aligned at the factory (The last two pictures are of the splines). This is probably the single most item of concern on a used GS bike. Some have a problem, ome don't. This one is perfect.
It's come with 3 wind screens, he original, he Aeroflow one (very nice and cost $465) and a Givi screen.
It's got the Two Brothers exhaust and muffler and also a BMW muffler (they swap out in about a minute).
Heated Corbin touring (both rider and passenger which works great on cold days).
Brand New Rear tire, airly new front tire. Extra front tire included.
Includes the original BMW luggage and genuine BMW tank bag.
Quick disconnect gas lines make removing the gas tank a two minute job rather than a huge hassle and the tank doesn't have to be empty.
Has a power adapter that will work with cigarette lighter input as well as USB cables.
I'm also including a load of other accessories and useful parts (oil filters, ir filters, nused gaskets, tc.)
The bike does have a few scuffs and scratches (it's a GS) but nothing to cry about.
The bike runs like new and is ready to go. I would not hesitate to ride the bike across the country or continent today. In picking up the bike, 'd be happy to meet you at the Charlottesville airport or train station and you could ride the bike home. I'm also happy to try to meet up with a shipping company if you have the bike shipped. If you're local, mail me and we can set up a time for you to look at the bike in person before you bid if you'd like.
The only reason I'm selling it is I am not getting enough time to ride it. I've got three kids and my work has picked up a lot as of lately. I don't want to see the bike sit. I'll get another one in a few years hopefully when my schedule will allow for some decent riding time. Email or call me with any questions and come by to check out the bike and see it run.
