Up for auction is a 2007 BMW f650gs with less than 8. 00 on the OD. It is in great cosmetic condition over all. There are a few minor scrapes and scuffs consistent with normal use for a bike of the model year. It runs perfectly. no issues whatsoever. The tires have a lot tread left. the battery is new. The fork seals are new. The bike comes with ABS and heated grips and both work as they should. I am only selling because I need the garage space (too many bikes). Take a close look at the photos as they are an excellent representation of the motorcycle for sale. Now. a word about the odometer. I’ve stated that the bike has 7500 miles on the odometer. but the odometer in the photo shows only 324 miles (with as many as 25 additional miles by auction's close as I'm still riding it). That is because you are looking at a new instrument cluster. Here’s the story. When I bought the bike in 2013 I noticed 50 miles down the road that the trip OD didn’t work properly and neither did the clock. When I got home I called my BMW dealer and asked about the problem. explained it in detail. The service manager said I would have to put in a new instrument cluster. a complete new board. about $425. I double checked his diagnosis with the service managers of BMW Riverside (CA) and BMW Salt Lake City. the two dealerships closest to mine. Both told me the same thing: new cluster. I ordered it. put it in and voila! Didn’t fix the problem. To make a long story short I went to the internet (where I should have gone before I replaced the cluster) and discovered this problem discussed on an f650 blog. The fix? A 50 cent fuse. Yeah. I felt pretty stupid. Rather than replace the original cluster. a bit of a nose bleed job. I left the new one in the bike and that’s why the OD shows far fewer miles than are on the machine. When I pulled the old cluster the OD showed about 7100 miles. so for service purposes. just add 7K to what the OD is reading. The bike has no more than 7500 miles on it. that is a promise. Can you trust me? Check my feedback. look at the photos and decide for yourself if what I’m saying is true. One other thing to consider. If I wanted to lie about the mileage. I would just have taken a trip. put 5K on the OD and claimed that as actual. The bike’s appearance would bear me out. Final note: The stains on the drive are from a friend's old Landcruiser. This bike leaks nothing. it is in superb condition and a great value at the Buy It Now price. That scrape on the front fender looks worse in the close up than it is. Look at the wide shots for a better idea of the overall cosmetic appearance of this motorcycle. There are some valuable after-market accessories on the bike:*Touratech seat. Most comfortable motorcycle seat I’ve ever sat on; I hate selling it. You can ride this seat 500 miles and still go dancing. Believe me. you don’t want a stock seat on this machine. you want the Touratech. It’s more comfortable than Corbin or Sargeant; I’ve owned both. It’s a $450 item. *After market lower engine guard (skid cage. see photo). *Touratech rear luggage rack. *Wide. adjustable-height footpegs. **The JESSE SIDECASES AND BRACKETS visible in several of the photos ARE NOT part of this sale. They are pictured to show you how the bike can be optimized for both touring and for shopping in town. They will be available to the winning bidder as an add-on accessory for $500. Original retail was about $1050 from Jesse. Current retail is a whopping $1490. Check it out at Jesseluggage - dot - com. These are the best side cases you can buy for a GS. whether it’s a 650. an 800 or a 1200. Believe me. you want these cases. whether you plan to tour or not (they hold a lot of stuff). BUT. if you place the winning bid and do not want the cases. I will remove the brackets before you pick up the bike.
