Two months ago. following up on a lead from a friend. I located this 1958 BMW R60 in a barn in New Mexico. It is a true barn find as you can see from the pictures. Look closely and you will see two chicken eggs under it when it was uncovered. This bike was last registered in 1980. It sat in that barn for the last 35 years. The bike is 99+% complete. The only things I know for sure are missing are the glass lens that covers the indicator lights. ignition on. and high beam. and the hub cover for the left side of rear wheel. I am not familiar with BMWs. so look carefully at the pictures. It you see something else that is missing. please tell me. The bike rolls good. both brakes work. the tires hold air. and the engine turns over with compression. The carburetors must be stuck since the throttle won't pull the slides open. This is an easy restoration and valued over $15K when in excellent condition. The VIN is 619142 and is stamped on both the engine and the frame. The mileage is unknown.
