I am the original owner of this 2009 BMW F800GS (VIN WB10229029ZU00141). It is the 6th BMW I have owned (R1100GS. R100GS Paris/Dakar. R1100S. K75S #1. K75S #2) and IMHO. in many ways. it is the best. I bought this F800GS new in San Jose and it’s been a West Coast bike ever since. It has primarily seen commuter miles in Los Angeles and some extended trips up and down the coast. I have taken it off road a few times up in Gorman/Hungry Valley off I-5. With the TKC 80’s on the bike. it handles remarkably well on trails. fire roads. even deep sand. I’ve ridden it to the top of the Hungry Valley/Cow Trail at around 5000ft. and it was a lot of fun. no isssues. I’ve tipped it over a few times in sandy river washes out at Hungry Valley but there’s nothing other than a couple of scratches on the tank to show for it. I was hit in 2011 on the bike by a motorist but it was mostly a knock over at low speed. The driver was overly gracious with bringing the bike back to perfect condition. so I had Long Beach BMW spare no expense making sure everything was replaced that was scratched. There have been a couple of recalls on this particular F800GS but all were repaired by Long Beach BMW and I have the service records. This included a faulty seal on a radiator hose and another water seal near the water pump. Both have been repaired with BMW factory spec updated gaskets and the problem has never re-appeared. It’s had the thorough 24. 00 mile service check at Long Beach BMW. In addition. I just took it into Mountain View BMW to have the regular annual service performed (mostly fluid changes) and had them look the bike over for any thing that needs attention. Brakes. tires. suspension. electronics. etc. are all in good working order. Tires are Tourrances and have pretty good tread left on them. Please call CalMoto BMW of of Mountain View if you would like to hear their opinion first hand re: this motorcycle. Please note I have all service paperwork on this bike. I cannot say enough good things about the f800GS. I love everything about the design and performance of this bike. It has been dependable to own and ride. both in twisty canyon roads and on the freeway. In commuter traffic. it handles well with nimble steering and a great braking system featuring ABS. I’ve averaged around 40 MPG so the 3. 2 gallon tank provides good range. On the multiple trips I have taken back and forth to San Francisco and San Diego. the bike has been comfortable and smooth. even up to about 115 MPH. The bike has always been garaged and comes complete with the original low cut seat (never used) as well as the full luggage set and a pair of low use Continental TKC-80’s. The windscreen is the stock full-sized OEM version. The tank bag’s vinyl window has not held up well under Southern Calif. UV rays and is gone. The tank bag itself still works fine. however. The only reason I’m selling this motorcycle is to get the new BMW F800GS Adventure.
