Up for sale is a 1957 BSA A10 650. My understanding is it's a Spitfire aluminum head engine. Number 178 off the line. The frame is a Gold Star lightweight. The odometer says 9k. Not sure of the accuracy. This bike was owned since 1967 by a fellow known as The Dirty Deak. He rode around Berkeley. Oakland and Sacramento. He rode it until 1972. Then it sat in his garage for 43 years. Wheel and steering bearings have been cleaned and repacked. Carb rebuilt. Oil tank and lines flushed. Checked and adjusted valves. Tank. petcock and lines cleaned. New tires. Completely refurbished original magneto. All work was done before starting of course. Started right up and continues to be a good starting engine. This bike has not been restored and has been modified. It's like a time capsule. The mods were done in the 60's. and left untouched. 21" front Jones rim with Avon tire19" rear Jones rim with DuroS and M headlightLimp weenie tail lightOriginal black Ca plateCaterpillar seat The bike is surprisingly snappy although I haven't pushed it. Goes through the gears well. Doesn't smoke. ping or rough idle. Clean title and currently registered. It has numerous cosmetic shortcomings. The front brake is in fine shape yet has miserable performance. Tank has single reserve petcock only. I encourage questions and feedback.
