BSA Lightning, 1970 654 cc vintage British twin, runs well, very complete.

I am offering for sale this 1970 BSA Lightning vintage British cycle. It is an A65 model. 654 cc two cylinder. The bike starts easily and runs / rides well. It has matching engine and frame numbers and a matching clear New York registration. This bike has been completely disassembled/reassembled and gone through from top to bottom. The engine cases were split . the crank removed and the sludge trap cleaned. The engine was reassembled with new rings. bearings and gaskets. The frame was stripped and painted with black Imron as well as the tank and side covers. The bike has mild to moderate patina on the original chrome and aluminum. It starts right up on the first or second kick and runs/rides well. It is a very nicely redone and excellent running bike. It has a new battery. chain. fork seals. complete engine seal and gasket set. has been completely rewired. It is a triple matching bike. engine. frame. and registration. The instruments in the pics are non original gray face type which were only used until 1967 (and not functioning well). I am going to replace them with the correct 1970 black face instruments. The tach and speedo drives and cables work well and will be included. but the instruments will probably need to be rebuilt at some point. I am not certain of the original mileage but I believe it is low. I would guess 12-15 K. This bike is being sold as-is with no reserve. the highest bidder will own it. It is located 20 miles south of Daytona Beach at Edgewater Fl. I will hold the bike until Daytona bike week if it is paid in full.
