1973 Bultaco Alpina Model 98 - Original

Here is a true barn find, his 1973 Bultaco Alpina was used by a local farmer to inspect his fields. He passed away about 10 years ago, nd the bike has been sitting since. A few years ago his wife went into a nursing home, ndI found the bike at the estate sale when the family startedselling everything off.

There is a sticker on the rear fender indicating that this machine was first sold at Suzuki of Edison, n NJ. The bike apprears to be very original and complete. The chain guard is missing, nd the front fender has been swapped out for a period Preston Petty Muder (which seems to have been the thing to do back in the day, ince I often see these on Bultacos), ut that's about it that I can see. The machine may not even have that many miles on it, ince it still has Made in Spain Motocross tires mounted front & rear. Original Akront rims; Betor rear shocks; clean Bultaco fasteners all around the bike - even the original seat is in great shape. The engine turns over fine, ut it is not currently running. Matching engine and frame numbers, nd there is a clear matching number title in my name ready to sign over to the new owner.

I would have liked to talk to this old farmer, ince he selected a pretty classy machine to ride the fields - it would have been much easier and cheaper to find an old Japanese bike to ride. Today, his bike would be perfect for Vintage Trials riding, hich is really growing in popularity.

PRICE: I've had two offers of $1,000 on the bike. I was really hoping for something closer to $1,200, ut if anyone is seriously interested I'd sell for $1,100.
